How do I proceed from correction Factor? After I set my offset factor, if I do not click (0C=Disable), it goes straight back to Battery checker and POVD is still present on OFF. May I know who came out with this?
Make sure you are in ADVANCED mode, by waiting for 3C to repeat at least once (in Simple mode, it blinks the voltage just once and then goes back to OFF).
Press 7H, the light will fast-blink; keep holding the switch (don’t let go of it at the end of 7H);
Wait for it to blink TWICE (signaling it went from “voltage correction factor” to “pos-off voltage display”) and the quickly release the button;
The light will now fast-blink; to turn POVD off, just do NOTHING (no clicks);
Wait for light to time-out, it will go back to voltage check.
Done! Your POVD should be turned off now; to test, just press 1C to turn it off, you should see no VD.
If you are able to flash a new firmware into your light, I can also prepare you an HEX with POVD disabled by default, just let me know.
I received two HD10 flashlights (6000K and 4000K versions) a few days ago, and I’m concerned that my 6000K version might be defective.
The HD10 with the 6000K LED has a noticeable green tint at higher output levels. I own several TS10 flashlights with 6000K LEDs and haven’t encountered this issue before, so I’m wondering if my HD10 is faulty.
Fig 1. WB set at 5000K. Left TS10 (6000K). Right HD10 (6000K).
I’m no expert, but besides a bad LED, I can’t think of any defect that could be responsible for green tinting of the beam. And you’re right, it’s just too much green.
Wurkkos unfortunately has a history of bad tinted LEDs in certain batches/versions of the TS10, so that could be history repeating itself with the HD10; that’s why I suggested to them, in another thread:
Anyway, I have a 6000K HD10 I received from Wurkkos a couple of months back, and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have anywhere as bad a tint as in your picture – when I get back home, I will turn it on and compare, and let you know the result.
Here’s a link to my Opple measurements for the 5/7 output levels of my TS10 and HD10. I’ve also included photos that show the tints of the lights.
While my 6000K HD10 exhibited a slight greenish tint in the tested output range, I didn’t expect it to have much impact at higher output levels. I’ve never observed such a significant positive jump in DUV accompanied by a sudden drop in R9 before. Typically, R9 stays relatively consistent across output levels, and DUV changes occur more gradually. The red-boxed data in my previous post was particularly unusual.
Thanks for the link, incredibly detailed! I must confess the parts about R9/Re/R1-8 etc go completely over my head, but last night I put my 6000K HD10 (received in early October) beaming against a white wall and even at Turbo it didn’t look anywhere as green as in your pic; here’s a pic with it to the right, and my venerable 4000K TS10v1 (the initial batch with the great LEDs), also on Turbo, to the left for comparison:
Sure, it looks blueish, but AFAIK that’s normal at 6000K and I can see very little green (sorry I don’t have an Opple or similar to give you an objective measure).
From my limited experience and with what my eyes can see, comparing it to your picture I would say your HD10 has a serious tint problem
@Wurkkos_Terry do you think that HD10 version without USB-C charging but with AA & 14500 support might appear sometime this season?
I’m not in desperate need of it, but it is exactly the light for which I have a bunch of uses. Just keen for it to exist so I can own a couple and also give a few to folks for whom it would be perfect, but who won’t bother to get one for themselves!
Alas, it was the announcement of the HD12 that made me ask the question about the other version of the HD10.
The HD12 is well aimed at a definite niche, but with the presence of features I don’t care about (red primary emitters, USB-C charging), absence of features I do care about (aux emitters, a smooth cylindrical body for easier clip-on orientation), and showstoppers (lack of Anduril), that niche excludes me and my use cases.
I’m sure the HD12 will do well but I am still hoping for a dual-fuel HD10 with Anduril.
Yeah but how much will it now cost as delivered price to USA including the TAT fee?
Not ordering anything from overseas until the dust settles. Pretty disgusted.
Was fun while it lasted but now the Good times are OVER.
Great price for a great little light! It’s my second most-used light after my TS10, and worth a lot more than $15. In fact I’m seriously tempted to buy another one, I usually avoid having more than one light from each model but at that price it’s hard to resist.
