Your coolest / best / favorite flashlight of 2024?

I have it with the SST40 ramping driver, supposedly 6-8A. There is a definite improvement in output/throw compared to 5A. I would go 8A because this host has no issues handling the heat. I doubt the driver would actually output 8A for long, as this emitter has higher Vf than lots of other throwy emitters like SFT40 and CU/CSLPM.

Convoy S6 with a short tube. SFT40 3000k.
It has been my primary EDC for 10 months. It replaced a lumintop fw1a that I carried for the last five or so years ever since that came out. I love that it is such a small package that can reach out and touch things a long ways away. I don’t really like the UI but I tolerate it. I know the S6 has been around for quite a long time but that led has only been available for a little over a year. When I saw videos of this combination I had to have it.
I also carry (last year’s favorite and still my favorite overall) the wizard c2 pro in 3000k. So whether I need reach or flood I’ve got it covered.

Gold medal: Fireflylite X1L Elite.

I have five of them now. “But why?” I hear you asking. Well, aside from the amazing driver, it comes with a great 7 degree TIR, and there are many more, which allow you to shape the beam to basically whatever you want it to be without breaking the bank. The wide variety of TIR choices plus decent emitter options makes this model of light incredibly versatile.

Silver medal: Convoy 3X21D 25A buck.

The original model had me turning my nose up at it in favor of the L7. This new version, though, is much improved, and provides value for the money that is just bananas.

Bronze medal: Fireflylite X4 Stellar.

A top-notch driver, beautiful aesthetics, a very small size for a 21700 light, a really pleasant emitter in the FFL351A 3700K, and three included TIRs make it a winner (unless you want a substantial thrower.)

Fireflylite E07x Canon - most refined and useful general purpose light.

Acebeam L35 v2 - still the benchmark light for me.

Jetbeam M37 Pro - the best pocketable duty light.

Emisar D4K, SFT25R and Lume X1 driver. This is pretty close to EDC perfection for me, it’s compact enough to comfortably carry in my jeans pocket, has a 21700 for plenty of capacity and has surprisingly good throw making it useful outdoors. Additionally it has Anduril with aux lights for at-a-glance battery check and beautifully low moonlight mode.

Honourable mention goes to the Acebeam L35 2.0, I love it but it’s not as easy to carry and needs a spacer to work with normal batteries.

Home and to play with my kid at the park: Wurkkos TS10 V2 4000k

Thrower: Convoy L21B XHP 70.3 3000k

Another vote for the Convoy S6 with 18350 tube. I like warm lights, but the 5000k SFT 40 is just so good! The 8 amp driver lets this one really reach out and it is pocket friendly. Simple, rugged, powerful.

Out of the 4 lights I purchased in '24, my favorite would be Sofirn LT1S. Old model, but new to me and extremely useful this time of year. I have two, now. Honorable mention goes to Wurkkos FC11C, blue promotional model. Nothing to dislike about it except for that awful lanyard stub. I had to stone the edges of it as it was slicing up the palm of my hand. Got half a mind to dremel the damn thing off.

I am still going with the TS10. I have several with different CCT and the New SG. One lives in my pocket every waking moment.
BTW, I have gotten several new lights this year. Sill going with the TS10

Well, its definitely NOT OF 2024, but I got it IN 2024.

The Sunwayman V11R Mirage Edition #90.

Thanks again Henk4U2 for the heads-up on BLF and Ron the seller.

I didn’t buy that much over the year, but these 3 were very pleasing:

  1. Firefly Lite E07X Cannon in MAO FFL351A 5000k
  2. Wurkkos TS10 v2 in orange
  3. Olight Seeker 4 Mini in green

Firefly Lite really redeemed themselves. They’ve made great flashlights in the past, but their new models are so well done. At least on Noctigon/Emisar level, if not higher. Lots of thoughtful touches. Excellent QC. I didn’t need the E07X but took a chance on it last April during a really good sale. It’s one of my favorite flashlights in my collection. I’m pleased with these FFL351A emitters too.

Wurkkos TS10 is a staple flashlight. It was so well thought out, unlike the Lumintop FWAA that fell short in a number of respects. I picked up the V2 in orange and the color looks fantastic, plus the anodizing quality is very good. And it’s nice having Anduril in this small but usable form factor.

I’m not a big Olight fan because of the proprietary batteries (both poles are at the top end). Yes, the cells have very good chemistry and are known to be reliable and have good lifespans. But it means you have only 1 vendor… and higher prices. It just bugs me. Still, I got the Seeker 4 mini at a very good price and figured why not. Well, it’s beautifully made. And the thing that really surprised me is the powerful UV light. Better than anything else I’ve owned. It picks up EVERYTHING. It’s my “clean bathroom” check tool.

Predicting Wurkkos TS10 will win by a landslide. My vote:

  1. Firefly E07X Cannon with FFL351D 4000k Rosy Tint
  2. Wurkkos TS10 V2 w/ CSP 2323 4000k - The ALWAYS-ON voltage display alone is worth the $10 sale price :slightly_smiling_face:, to say nothing of the beautiful beam.

  1. Convoy S6 with SFT40 in 3000k and a 5A buck driver. It is my EDC since I got it back in January.
  2. Fireflylite X4 Stellar. Wine red color and I have a mix of 3700k and 1800k FFL emitters. Really efficient and the lantern attachment makes it really versatile. I think it is my most used light around the house. I also attached a picture of it.
  3. Fireflylite X1S Pharos with and XHP50.3 hi 4000k emitter in Fossil Gray MAO. Throwy, but not really a thrower. It is not really mentioned a lot, but I feel that it is a great light. I like the USB-C charging. I am taking it with me when traveling.

LE: Sorry, I couldn’t restrict myself to mention just 1

For me it is Wurkkos FC11C for sure.

As close to perfect flashlight as it gets - everything from 519A, CCT choice, driver, UI, dual springs, battery indicator to 18350 support which makes it comparable to TS10 in size if needed.

I actually prefer the switch as is, not modded, because it is pretty good at preventing accidental activation. And 18650 because 18350 version feels too short in hand and i am fine with carrying longer light.

Honorable mention: Lumintop DF2.

It is a decent thrower and comes with diffuser which makes it a decent lantern with very long runtime, but generally there is nothing spectacular about the light.

It is, however the best flashlight+powerbank combo I’ve seen. Compact, single replaceable cell, 88Wh (airplane friendly), 2x18W independent type-c, waterproof…

True enough. I modded it, and it feels better and the thumb doesn’t need to search for the middle of the rubber switch, but it’s easier to activate accidentally. Upon your comments and prior reflections, I unmodded it, and it’s harder to press inadvertantly but it also feels cheap in comparison and is more prone to miss-clicking. So I modded it back and promised not to touch it again and instead remember to lock the light, one way or the other, when needed.

Interesting. Just shows how a lot of things are very subjective. It’s good when there is choice and stuff is as easy to mod as this button.

I modded and unmodded mine too, back when i received the light, ended up choosing non modded version. Modded one does feel better, i absolutely agree, but it is the case of function over form for me. Also it does seem to work fine when i press whole button with the thumb, no need to search for actual switch.

This will probably be way down the overall list as Klarus is not too popular a brand and this model has been out a while, but I am very happy I used a 30% discount opportunity to get the Klarus XT21X Pro.
