I did 3 out of the 4, and they are working better with the taller nub. I found some 2.5mm diameter plastic and cut them with a razor blade to 1.7mm tall, like the ones in my first GB lights. The original nub measure 2mm x 1.7mm tall, the red nub diameter is a bit bigger in diameter and is a tighter fit naturally.
I don’t know what these are, some kind of plastic sewing needle(s) found them in the wifes sewing basket.
Switch on center and mounted directly to board will not work with boot with the push button nub ground down. Works perfectly (no boot) with the stock button when the switch is mounted directly to the board or even the ground down button but with excessive slop/rattle. It was a learning experience, opened up other options and ideas… Now I have to make the custom titanium trit button…to make up for the one I waisted…
Sorry for the delay, I’ve been absolutely pulled out at work, plus I’ve had some issues with the new trit design; I’ll have some of the original design over to you next week pal and see if I can fix the errors in the trit version, I think I may have to thicken it up slightly.
:+1: CRX was the one that thought of it in this thread, I’m just making work for me.
I used this switch sometime ago when the UT02 was the craze, it had the same type (diaphragm) switch, which in the UTORCH UT02 it started crapping out, so I bought a bunch of the micro tactile switch’s, I modded quite a few UT02’s and couldn’t chance failure. CRX refreshed my mememory, so glad he did, because I can’t stand these diaphragm switches!
I’m not 100% sure that’s what they are, some distant memory called them that, but yeah some kind of knitting, sewing, darning, yarn type needle.
I’ve done some hand sewing in my time, mostly repairs to gear etc and some custom webbing holsters.
