Follow the link in the first post and try the coupon code – either it’ll work, or it won’t.

Received my shipping notice on friday, and today I received another email saying it will be here on tuesday.
4 days from Hong Kong to PNW.

Kudos to DHL. Beer

Great, props to UPS, they are the ones that do the actual shipping from country to country, DHL only brings it to your door.

Me love lights lonng tyme!

For most of the major countries shipping is included. For the rest you need to contact Neal for a quote I am guessing.

I think it is the other way around IIRC, DHL handles the international part and UPS will sometimes deliver to your door. From what I remember DHL is bigger then UPS internationally. Could be wrong though.

UPS operate more airplanes and carry alot of air cargo for others, probably including DHL. Though I’d expect the carrier to vary between routes (for example HK to US might fly UPS while HK to Europe might fly DHL) and over time as the airlines adjust their fleets and schedules, and the couriers negotiate and renegotiate contracts.

Did that over his FB page but no response, PM-ed him like 3 weeks ago. Will try with email from his website.

Yeah, I would try PM and email. Strange he has not gotten back to you yet, he said he caught up on messages about a week ago.

So I don’t know IF I should be alarmed but I just checked the tracking from DHL and after being on “hold” the next update has me worried…..

“ Monday, January 20, 2020 Location Time
3 Awaiting collection by recipient as requested HONG KONGHONG KONG 14:51”

Only a bit worried as the delivery is to “Canada” while its location is still in “Hong Kong” and awaiting collection by recipient(?) am I just paranoid or did someone hijack my package…..

Mine says the same thing, so I just assume “recipient” is whoever is next in line in the shipping chain. (First time for me in a group buy type of thing from China so I guess this is normal).

First time seeing this from DHL as I’ve had a fair number of things from China sent Via DHL….. Though the other packages weren’t flashlights but rather swords from blacksmiths on wechat…

Probably not hijacked, more likely they’re returning it to sender (i.e. waiting for Neal to pickup the package). DHL tracking says my GT90 is in Canada with the delivery expected tomorrow.

Yeah, I would not be worried about the tracking. Most likely it is waiting to be picked up by the courier. In China most international shipping is not done directly from the sender, instead they give it to a “state friendly” shipping “distributor” that then handles getting the package out of the country.

I don’t know all the details but there are a lot of politics involved. It is most likely waiting for the next step in the chain.

As of right now, nothing has changed, still on “waiting for recipient”.

Remember that China is all but shut down for the next few weeks, so a lot of things tend to just sit during this time. It amazes me just how shut down the entire country can be during this time.

Gt90 arrived yesterday as promised per shipping info.
What a beast. On factory settings turbo timer kicked
In and the head was just warm, not uncomfortable at all.
Those fins are doing what they are supposed to do.
This is my first GT light and am impressed with the build quality, and I would not want to take a hit upside the head with it.
Only issue I can see is slightly off center emitter, but its a thrower not a white wall hunter. At distance you cant tell.
Bottom line is Im very happy with it so far and glad I grabbed one. Thanks to all invovled with this project.
Btw..I suck at beamshots so please dont ask for any.

If you like this one you need to get a GT70 too. The throw is barely less perceptible while the flood is significantly greater.

Forgot to mention a few things:

  1. Order placed on Jan. 7th, shipped on Jan. 17th, received on Jan. 21st.
  2. The original BLF GT battery carriers had spring loaded contacts on one end. The BLF GT90's battery carriers don't. Not a big deal. Just thought I'd mention it.
  3. The Lumintop BLF GT90 logo+text are way off on the alignment with the power button. See the comparison below between GT, GT70, and GT90:

That’s a bit annoying considering it’s not cheap.

1: Good to hear they are arriving
2: This change tot he carrier is to improve current carrying since it needs to handle 30A vs the 3A-10A of the prior versions.
3: That is a very strange issue, All the others I have seen have been aligned the same as the GT70.
