1. IMALENT DT70 bought in March2017: Two spare O-rings was missing in the package, otherwise everything vas ok.
2. IMALENT DN70 Mars 2017: No problems at all
3. IMALENT DN35 No1 April 2017: The USB loading cable was missing when the flashlight arrived, but the biggest problem with this flashlight was that it after a short running time shuts off and becomes completely dark. If I the shut it off manually and then put it on again it starts to shine just like it suppose to do. But after a vile it shuts of the light again, and so on.
4. IMALENT DN35 No2 April 2017: I got this flashlight from Banggood in July 2017as a replacement for the first, non-functional DN35, (after a lot of mailing) To my great disappointment was this flashlight dead on arrival! I tried it several times with two different full loaded IMALENT original batteries, but without any success.
After a very long e-mail conversation I finally got my money back for this flashlight from Banggood
Of course, it has been quite a long time since my IMALENT experience. I hope IMALENT has a significantly higher quality now. In other respects, the company makes flashlights with brilliant performance and obviously belongs to the top layer of manufacturers.
Well, There is problem with Imalent PERIOD. I am speaking from Engineering background ( I am a Mechanical Structure/Interface Design Engineer ).
The Engineering process has to be perfect from top to bottom. Meaning correct layouts, autocad/cad/catia/solidworks drawings(blueprints) to proper Electrical Engineering to production and assembly of light.
Only then QC/QA falls into play. If correct Engineering process is done then QC will aid BUT not be main factor for functionality of light. Correct Engineering is the KEY.
Good grief… So sorry man….
I consider Imalent not the most reliable brand, but I do feel they have the X-factor that makes me want their lights. I bought two DT35 and two DT70 lights dirt cheap. Both work without problems.
I must be extra lucky, as my DX80, DN35 and even the old DDT40 all still work fine. Granted I’ve not left the DX80 on turbo more than a few minutes at a time, understanding the thermal issues since it has no fan.
Hi SSS,
Sorry to hear about your DX80. I’ve seen others with DX80 issues and sometimes it looked to components on the BMS that fried.
Do you still have battery voltage on the output to the head? Curious if its the same issue since you say it flickered.
If it cant be charged, I wonder if it is the BMS then. Maybe the BMS can still output correct voltage after frying, but will not output more than a few mA? So multimeter will work but nothing on the light will… Could be the transistors on the BMS (they are very sensitive, especially if they are fakes). Just some things to check if you are interested.
If only it was a TA or Lexel design. It would have been worth every penny for Imalent.
now i got massive samsung 30q + xhp 70.2 paperweight sitting on the shelf
got to do some thing with it…
and no more light from imalent for me…
their warranty is non-existent
The headlamp itself is still working after light to moderate usage since 18 months, but the headband is crude, cannot keep the headlamp in position.
Output level adjusting screw is somewhat wobbly, and needs readjustment moderately often, when I want to change output level.
Did not try its water resistance, and won’t (as I read here on BLF, that somebody had this model failed even under basic water resistance testing conditions).
Imalent R90C is a very tempting flashlight based on the specifications, but I won’t risk to pay for it (even with discounts), if there is considerable chance, that it will fail soon.
I had two of them, both with serious problems. After a long discussion they had been replaced.
-HR20, a screw inside the Head was missing, the other was loos. So after 3 days the switch and output level adjuster starts hardly wiggling . .
-DN12, something wrong with the driver. The moment i turned it on, i got an heat alarm and the light reduced power.
Do i get the poll right?!? 45% (with problems) vs. 35% (with out problems)
This would mean 56% of all Imalent lights have serious quality problem?
Sorry, but my decision is clear - Imalent, never again.
being someone who worked in an outdoor shop and had a short contract with imalent on a few shipments, the older Imalent tends to have more issues, otherwise the latest one not so much
