Well, my prerelease sample of the new FLEXCandles Asgard model arrived today. This is the light with the Bluetooth equipped driver that can be programmed wireless on the fly using your Android device or even from your Windows PC using their custom FLEXCandles app. Sorry for some of the crappy pics...I couldn't wait to post them.
Aside from the user interface, pretty much identical in every way. LOL! I'm waiting to see if the others have received theirs yet and whether they are seeing a couple issues that I've noticed. Then I need to work with Fasttech to iron things out.
I gotta say after seeing these pics that I’m glad I held off on purchasing this light. I’m excited about the methodology, etc, and it would be a great light to play around with, maybe more than anything to date … but other than that reflector, bezel, and emitter, this light is an eyesore to me. $46 is still $46. Now, make me feel really bad by giving it a great review!
saypat - I didn't think it look like an eyesore though. It looks great. And nice serial number JohnnyMac!
Heh...yeah it is. Actually all the preproduction samples have the same serial number on the outside due to an error by the factory. Inside the driver itself (much like the VIN on a car being on the engine block) the firmware has the real serial number. In the case of mine, it truly is the first one ever made.
Congrats on the first ever JohnnyMac! The app interface looks good, easy to use! There's even temperature sensor in the light! I suppose the Fahrenheit could be changed to Celsius?
Not sure about Celcius. This isn't the final version and they are making some last minute changes as we speak based on feedback I've already given them. I will try and find out. If not available initially, it could easily be added in an update to the software app.
Thanks for the sneak peek JohnnyMac. Interface is looking good from here. Not that it affects functionality or anything but it says "Disonnect." Lol.
LOL. It says "disconnect" because I was connected at the time. If I wasnt connected it would say "connect". That button establishes or breaks the BT connection with the light.
Typo noted and it has been fixed :). Sorry for that. You can switch to celsius mode by simply taping the temperature reading. The app memorizes this preference as well. Jasmine
This. I was just popping on to says the same things. but you beat me to it, Jasmine. Jasmine, check your PM about something else I'm seeing.

Could you test to see how short you can make it blink? For example, set it to max output for 1/960th of a second then off for 39/960ths of a second, then repeat. It should result in a nice 24Hz true strobe. I’d like to know just how small those time slices can be, to see if it can be used for freezing objects in motion and such.
Yep it’s stated in the website. But I’ll see the reviews to further confirm it.
I hope the reviewers could test programming via PC and phone
No worries. We will.

Yeah, but there were a bunch of people (including me) who were looking forward to your review! Can we start a campaign or something?

I'm talking about the app. I'm saying I don't mind waiting for the final version of the app, which should be here about the time the light arrives.
