oh, yes that’s right, sorry. I expect to have to wait about two more weeks for that light. I’ll definitely make some sort of review with beamshots, comparisons and post it to the forum. Probably pit it against an Acebeam K60 dedomed, X7VN and stock TK75 (2015) just to see how the beams compare/contrast.
The great thing about the TM26/28 is its size. It has a beam profile and output similar to a single XHP70 large reflector light, like the K60 or L6, but you can put this light in your pocket. I recently got the 26GT; very nice light, but only pumps out 3500 lumens with freshly charged cells. With cell voltage about 3.8 Volts, there is hardly a difference visible between level 4 (1700 lumens) and level 5 (3500 lumens). I guess with the TM28 you have a boost driver, so hopefully output is constant as a function of cell voltage.

I saw another thread from recently where you and a couple other members where looking at the TM26GT was $160. which seems to be reasonable. $390. is definitely not reasonable for that light imo. Also stated in previous thread. I’m hoping that the TM28 will have better performance than any big single xhp70 light could ever attain. Additionally it’s smaller as you said.
I know that the K60 with the shaved dome gets close to 1,000 meters of throw which is simply astonishing for the light @ price. I tried shaving the dome on the L6 NW and even current boosting it (didn’t current boost K60), it was great and all, but still not nothing like the K60.
Yeah, thanks for the wishes on the TM28. I hope it’s good too. I guess I will find out soon enough. I was able to preorder it via black Friday for $270. which is still like, I’m glad I didn’t have a heart attack typing that just now, money. However, at that price, I think that if I don’t like it I wouldn’t have too much trouble making back even money as it will probably hang around $379. for a while.
Don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet but KD, they have the Olight X7 for $149. http://www.kaidomain.com/p/S025935.Olight-X7-MARAUDER-3-x-Cree-XHP70-White-9000-Lumens-6-Mode-LED-Flashlight
I have one of these but the VN version for considerably more $ than this price. I have to say though, Olight made an exceptionally high quality light with the X7. It has a very durable feel and heat sinks well for the size. I cannot speak to the stock Olight UI as I have the driver VNx2 in my version. Stock is 9,000 lumens vs. 14,000 in VN (ANSI), but in a way this is still negligible difference as to the naked eye even this much of a gap can be mistaken one for the other. Side by side though would be fairly obvious.
actually i dont think 14k lumen is useful
and i wont trade my stock driver with a Direct Drive driver
Unbeatable, I almost pulled the trigger on this one… then I remembered that I don’t need it lol !
For less than the price of 3 emitters, you got a triple copper DTPMCPCPB and a TIR optic, that’s a huge bargain IMO !
Basically, you buy this, a BLF 17DD driver and an S2+ host and you’ve got a 3000 lumens power rocket for less than 30$ !
EDIT : and 90+ CRI !

I have some triple pills for s2+ already , so i will surely make some with these kits .
Has anyone compared the optic with the Carclo one ?

I did, in my S10R II triple xp-g2 3C.
The beam is really similar to a 10507 carclo, to be fair I don’t see any difference.
The only difference is that the KD optic is integrally flat smooth and the carclo has thre recessed domes on the surface.
Surely it makes a difference in the beam but I don’t see it

Interesting. A few hours ago I've been having a good time with a friend, talking, etc. He has funded me to upgrade his inexpensive headlamp, a SingFire L-05 1*Cree XM-L2 T6 3-Mode 850LM Cool White LED Headlamp. Sooo, I'm waiting for him to fiddle with it and discover what MCPCB the thing is fitted with. Gonna try one of those 90+CRI XM-L2 emitters. He mostly uses the headlamp for close-up work (sort of an amateur mechanic), so the boost in colour rendering ability and the lesser impact on his night vision should be really worth it. Doesn't it?
Cheers

Just made KD order the other day and missed that. Too much already in the cart and I dumped some 4500K XP-L HI out to get it to a reasonable price. Definitely would have adjusted “other” items to get some of the triple nichias for that price. Hope they last long enough to get some for the next order.
Thanks antiparanoico, I'll wait for him to tell me something tomorrow, I have shown him both a 20mm star and a 16mm round MCPCB in order for him to know what to look for under the reflector.
Just don't wanna pull the trigger too soon (LoL).

I use a headlamp very often, when i hobby on lights for example.
It and my reading glasses make an awesome support team.
But i recently put a Nichia 219C 4000K in it and i’m really happy with it.
it’s driven by an nanjg AK47 in 3 modes 1050mA, which is more than enough, i use it mainly in medium mode.
I gave it flood optics too.
I wouldn’t want it to be a warmer tint.
This springtime daylight tint is nice and ‘awake’.

Nico -.-
Hehe, you could always send some of your warm lights to me
Also tempted by the Nichia trip.
I got too many lights…..but never enough

Well I did offer to let you hide them at my place

If the Nichia triple is still that price on the weekend I am going to order it
Wow, that triple 219C. Amazing..
Now should i take 1 or2 ?
(edit) took 2
