Nice! I have a magnification thing in transit, big square with legs and some LEDs underside, used by elderly to read books but for $6,66 (no joke this was the GB sale price) I hope to use it for modding so I do not have to wear protective glasses while soldering.
When I got my first Pelican product back in ’95 the guarantee actually said that about Grizzly attack and small children, I thought it was hilarious, and so true, comparing the rug rats to the mighty Griz!
I think you forgot to change the date on that last one mate… otherwise, it pulled a lot during those 42 minutes. Perhaps it had to listen to Vogon poetry or something, I guess that would explain it.
After dropping the SS X6, it makes sense why the cooling fins are not as deep as the aluminum X6. If they were deeper, the fins might be susceptible to bending much easier since copper is so soft. With today’s drop, I could see how the impact would have twisted and bent the fins if they had been deeper. Is that why?
I think that the only reason for the shallow fins is that copper is a pain to machine, and to machine deep fins costs more effort (time, wearable machine parts) than they would save on the copper.
For those of you, who want other pocket clip options. I bought a foursevens PK clip and with the help of a dremel fit it on to the X6 (I got the idea off of the other forum).
Your testing is what led me to remove my tail resistors and bleeder resistors. I like the idea, but in a 14500 light, I like the maintenance free battery aspect of NOT having the tailcap lit…
Now I can keep mine by the bed for two months and should not be below 4.1V, I have light…
Thanks for the testing Joat, this is cool to see someone so dedicated as to NOT play with a new light…. your sacrifices are noted…
My x6 does not enter in menu/config mode. Tried to tap it for more than 20x, i think i made 50 taps, but still cannot enter into config mode. My other x6 is fine. Tried swap tailcap same problem. what seem to be the problem? Sent BG message hopefully their reply is positive.
Small update on my messed up tailcap. Paypal closed my dispute after 20 days (boooo!). Luckily Banggood had just shipped the replacement tailcap. I just got it. There is no coating so there is a patina, but it’s machined properly.
So it took like 9-10 weeks and a Paypal dispute, but Banggood did make it right. Finally!
