I’ll address this but then I agree that this topic is off point and we should stick to the pure awesomeness (IMHO) that is the L2.
You thought right. Simon is Convoy. If it truly is a Convoy light I can assure you that Simon (Convoy) stands behind his/their lights and will resolve any legitimate issues. The reason I said what said is that Gearbest has been caught several times selling fake Convoy flashlights. Search “fake Convoy” and you will see them mentioned over and over. When Simon caught wind of it he took action and informed them that he would not sell them any more flashlights if they did not stop selling the fake inferior copies of his lights. GB has also repeatedly demonstrated poor and unethical business practices including trying to bribe customers into removing negative reviews. I committed to one group buy that’s being facilitated by them and I will hold up my end because I keep my promises. Aside from that I will never shop there. Enough about that. Back to the L2…
Hmm just went through my PM’s and received the same message “GROW UP and MOVE ON BOY! Well here is my question…. Do I really have too? :( :( :_( Bahaaaa!!!
Well, the L2 is now sold at Fasttech, GearBest, and BangGood, so it's all relevant, I would think. I sure would like to know if it's the same L2 components we're talking about between all these sources. True bout the GB fakes, but the picture shows the brass pill - fakes had an alum pill. Doesn't mean components are swapped or assembled differently though, depending on the source retailer. Actually I'm thinking now that the blue or red S2+ lights from GB had soldered drivers and no retaining ring, while Simon's had the retaining ring... Hhmmm. So maybe this means we can't trust the other "big 3" for the L2 as well?
Hhhmmm. Thinking the risk is limited when buying from Simon...
Unfortunately, GB is blowing away all others on L2 pricing, like for at least $6, like 15% - ouch! Discounts aside though... AVOID or save, but save may end up losing anyway .
Hi everyone, those who have started fighting in this thread should go back and delete their post(s) that are argumentative or aggressive in nature. Also, please do *not* send threats or provocations via PM.
Am I missing something? Having started with P60 pills I was looking forward to being able to exchange a driver without solder mess.
Without a ring
A sizable space around the whole ring.

Thanks for any help EDIT
I opened up my other L2 and that ring was bigger. I might of got rings switched up.
The nice thing about your own mod is that you can do what ever you want.
triple xpl V6 3D, Efest 26650 3500mAh, FET + 7135 Driver - 17mm - MTN-17DDm, and a 10508 Carclo Lens - 3-UP Frosted Medium Spot Optic (xpl mod)
I am thinking about adding a Lowel IP-72 Frost Gel. Heat might be a problem.
Not to sure how PWM will affect pictures, but I would like to use the L2 as way of adding some diffused lighting.
Also thinking about having 5/8” cut off the head. A piece of glass could set on the first shelf up. Without the reflector and bezel this starts to approach a lighter more EDC light. (257.5g) w/o battery
While taking a light meant to be a thrower, and turning it into a flood light might not seem the right thing to do.
The light does have the mass to handle the heat and the Efest has the capacity of the best 18650.
Also the 26650 puts out great amps with less voltage sag compared to an 18650.
I love seeing the abstract ideas that come out of this forum. There is no “wrong” thing to do here. I love seeing the insanity that mad scientists that make up BLF come up with. That’s what makes this forum so interesting. If you think you can approach an EDC light with this I really want to see what magic you come up with. Carve away and let us know how it all turns out with pictures and numbers!
