Hey all. Thanks for posting the links. I just saw the email from Simon saying he had listed them. I should be getting mine in maybe a week. I’ll add the links and pictures to the OP later today.
All of this info has been posted in the OP but to sum at all up for everyone…
The new version L2 is here. I’ve removed some of the obsolete info from the OP.
The price has gone up a few dollars (now $49.76) to cover the upgrades but the 15% discount still applies.
As previously stated the new version has some changes…
L2 now comes stock with AR coated glass.
L2 now comes with a single tube and an extension tube similar to the way the L4 is sold.
Removable threaded tactical ring. A simple ring is also included to cover the threads for those of you that dislike tactical rings.
New driver. The new version uses the LD-29 driver meaning the stock light will work essentially the same whether you are using a single cell or 2 cells with the extension tube.
Different tube and knurling. The older “block pattern” knurling was dropped because of the difficulty getting the knurling to align when using the extension. You can still have the block style if you purchase the separate tube but only for 2 cells.
Different emitter. The stock emitter is now XPL-HI.
XPL HI V2-1A CW 6500-7000K (this comes standard)
XPL HI U6-3A NW 5000-5300K (add $0.50)
XPL HI U6-4B NW 4500-4700K (add $0.50) This one is on the warmer side of neutral
Here is what it looks like with the tactical ring.
With the simple ring.
Single cell configuration (extension removed). Stumpy.
The extension tube with your choice of rings. Really happy with the way this turned out.
NOTE
The one-piece two-cell tubes are now listed on the Convoy store. They will also come with both tactical and simple ring and you can choose the old block style knurling or the ring style knurling.
Here is the block style tube.
Here is the ring style tube.
The price for the tube with both rings is $8.51 but I believe the 15% discount applies here too.
Here are both of the links:
Just ordered the block 2 cell one piece tube and a couple or 3 other lights. How could I resist? Had the ring style 2 cell in the cart too and decided to only make one of my L2’s a 2 cell light, will have to get another buck driver from Richard, probably a 6V version and then I can use the MT-G2 I’ve been sitting on for a while now.
Don’t forget the L6 will be here soon. With the OP (also slightly larger) reflector that should be really nice for those quad-die emitters. Not that you could wait that long LOL. Do you think the MT-G2 be a half decent thrower in this host or is this more for lumens? Just curious what the mad scientist is up to… Only 5 more to go buddy!
I just really like the MT-G2 and haven’t built one in a while. The 10 I already have need company, and what better host to grant them that?
Also have a JAX X6 Hunter due in anytime, got a MTN Buck driver to put in that one with a HI or whatever. Might stick a de-domed XP-G2 S2 0D in there, to bely the size of the light.
Yeah, I’d been there yesterday but my internet was down…. 4 now.
The MT-G2 should be ok in either the OP or SMO reflector, at least my Acebeam K40M is SMO, and in actual use, I don’t see any problems. - Of course it’s not a quad-die; more like a ‘72’ die as shown by RMM with his avatar.
So - Today is the day that you hit Ten Grand, Dale?
