You can use 18650 in a 26650 light, but not vice versa. So 26650 actually wins for compatability.
If your chargers are ruined by an emp, why would the one in a light still work?
The L6 needs less explanation than almost any light out there. No half-presses, no ridiculous UI’s. Just one function per button. Obviously this guy figured it out before he even looked for manual. He was just missing the “holy book of marketing mumbo jumbo” that Olight and Thrunite throw in there.
As ridiculous as the zombie comment is, the bezel isn’t even smooth!
Honestly, I’m very much one of those “fault finders”, so that doesn’t bother me as much. What bothers me more is when you can find flaws in paradise, but somehow not in the slum.
So I had to watch that review after all the comments here. I have nothing against that guy as I really don’t know him or anything he’s about but it’s obvious that he knows very little about flashlights and his review was inaccurate and not in any way helpful even to preppers.
It was mildly annoying to hear someone speaking negative about the L6 and it’s a shame if people are relying on that guy to help them through the zombie apocalypse. :person_facepalming:
For that matter in the insane situation where I actually need to use a flashlight as a weapon, the L6 “Zombie-Skull-Crusher” is going to be the FIRST light I grab.
A built-in charging port is the standard by which a flashlights usefulness is judged? Really?
Who needs a manual for a light that has 4 modes? If you can’t figure out the UI on the L6 just put it down because you probably shouldn’t be using things or stuff.
Thank you PD and others for sticking up for Convoy. :+1:
I stopped watching when I got to the bit about 26650s. I just knew what else was there (or not) and I wasn’t going to waste more time on him. Yeah, he doesn’t get it.
+1
If the reviewer in question is an example of ‘Prepping’, he or she will be faced with the dilemma of collapse where there will be no manuals at all.
… I’m not really overly “excited”, but like others have said also; it would have been nice if he had just reviewed the flashlight.
I mean give me a break…. no matter what light you buy you have to have batteries for it, that is a no brainer to most people.
And yeah, should you not have a charger that will charge said batteries; you’ll need one.
But to make those two opinions of his, along with the absence of “on board” charging; the negatives that caused him not to recommend the light is somewhat weak to my way of thinking.
Personally, if this light did have the “on board” charging; it would be much, much less attractive to me. In fact I would have probably passed on it all together. BUT, that is a personal preference of mine. I do not really like “on board” charging…. especially in a light this size.
In other words…… review the light.
(Oh yeah, “on board” is my “pet peeve name” for USB charging, or whatever it is called.) :smiling_imp:
Yep, he’s clueless about our hobby. His inexperienced subscribers should stay away from any flashlight using Lithium-ion batteries. They’re the one’s who end up burning their houses down.
