Good question. Simon just got the new shipment and I don’t have any feedback from him yet but I did ask. I’ll report back as soon as he responds but until then it’s safest to assume that a few of them still may have a minor flaw.
But Fasttech is cheaper than BG by about $10 US, but they are really slow - China —> US —> APO Europe takes about 1-1.5 months, and China —> Europe from FT is not much faster.
If I send it US Postal Service to APO (military overseas post office), I don’t have to pay VAT/import tax. The bad thing is it goes from China to New York, NY to Chicago, Chicago to Frankfurt.
One time I ordered something from Hong Kong that was about $300 US, I had to pay almost 100 euro in import fees.
All the China sellers can send it direct, but one time I ordered from GB and had it sent direct. I chose a very fast shipping method (DHL I think), and GB for some stupid reason changed it to Sweden Post or something like that without asking. Took more than a month to get here. The only nice thing is I think I didn’t pay any VAT.
So if I order from BG or FT, do you think I’ll have to pay VAT for 1 flashlight?
They will put in a (much) lower price on the package. So far I had no troubles with various shipping options, except DHL. They always declare duty costs
I have issue with lightning outdoor in winter time. After some minutes working on high mode a moisture ring appear on inside part of glass.
Ring is on center and his size is around 1/3 of all glass lens.
Did someone has same problem and how to solve it?
Tangra, there must be some small degree of moisture present inside your light. This could happen from having the light open on a humid day, or even from the assembly process when it was made. Very cold outside ambient vs the hot inner light is creating that moisture ring.
To the best of my knowledge, the only way to fix it is to disassemble, dry it out and reassemble. Easier said than done, of course. You might be able to minimize this apparent effect by storing the light in a less warm environment so when you go outside it’s closer to ambient temperature? I’m probably one of the worst to be giving advice on this as we don’t get a lot of cold nights here. Not sure what your best recourse might be.
Somebody here can surely offer better suggestions?
