Quite busy at the moment so I’ll just let the numbers speak for themselves.
I was surprised how cool the hotspot looked on max output. Very neutral but skewed towards green on the low modes which is quite surprising considering it uses PWM. The tint shift from lowest to highest is larger than on the 219C D4. Output matches or exceed the specifications.
The battery tube is visibly lighter than the head on mine.
In my opinion Emisar should have made the D1 a bit smaller and with an orange peel reflector for better every day use. The D1S will fill the thrower need anyway.
I quickly tried the D1 with d-c-fix. It lost 9% of output while throw plummeted from 44kcd to 10kcd. The beam is very nice and smooth though.
Crap! I wish I would’ve bought one of these! The first 2-3 weeks I found this hobby (February this year) Hank had these on discount on his website for $35. I remember because it’s engrained in my mind. I looked everyday at what i wanted to buy for a couple weeks before pulling trigger on the d4sv2. I remember not being impressed with the lumens of the D1, because my newbie mind didn’t understand the importance of throw, throw in a small light, and a cool host (my opinion, really like Hanks designs) and future emitter swaps. I really enjoy my KR1 W2, and maybe i’m not missing too much, but i think this light looks awesome.
Anyway - if anyone has a D1 collecting dust on a shelf they might want to part with, i’m interested. Green preferably.
Thank you ! I did take a look through the want to buy section, and just today re-read the “how to start a topic on blf” post to learn how to make a post. I will start one today for the D1 It is a shame, but i am glad to have learned a couple things since then too.
