I would like to add that Neal has informed me that a just an X6 host will most likely run $15 USD. I don't know that it's for this group buy but it sounded like just in general. I will let him clear up any addition questions.
If host only is an option what will the price break be? These drivers are decent enough that if they come with the mode’s we want I’d rather buy whole lights to be able to take the drivers out of for other builds and stuff unless the price from host to complete light is big enough to really make a difference.

3 well-spaced modes, no blinkies (unless hidden) and at least 3A at the LED, and you can count me in for one.
Preference:
3 mode + 4A timed turbo mode, with LED on Noctigons.

Yeah man! I’d rather spend the extra $3 or $4 for the whole setup if the driver is done right. I can use them for other projects should I need to. Well worth the money. I still see me buying just hosts in the future for other builds. I love the look of this light and can’t wait to get my hands on one!
Exactly, an additional $3-4 over the host cost for a known bin XM-L2 and the easily resistor modded driver is more than worth it just to have the parts even if I plan to tear the entire thing down and build it.
Fit and finish is excellent, the internal build is robust, altogether a very well thought out and executed light.

I think the 3A is okay if reprogramming of the driver for timed turbo mode is not an option. Those that want more can still change the resistor and get the 4A or more.
It is getting pretty close to the 200 now… 
I’m back but barely coherant…lol. I’m working on very little sleep…so I appreciate your patience…and mega-thanks to peeps like Johnny Mac for keeping track of the interest! This has really blown up to something bigger than I had imagined!
As you can tell…l really want to get the numbers up to 200 for the logo. I do not have a light yet with this designation, and I really want one because of my affinity for BLF. Many others indicated similar thoughts.
But…there are so many variables to take into consideration. And now that a host might be available…that might confuse things further when considering total numbers for BLF logo. I don’t yet know if Eagle Eye will include hosts as part of the 200, or if hosts will just be available later on. This is a new wrinkle that will have to be bird dogged.
Further complicating things…BLFers that indicated a light earlier might switch to a host only, etc. And then there are those that want noctigons, 4 amps…etc. Egads…my brain is starting to hurt just thinking about all the possibilities.
Nevertheless, I will continue to get additional info from Neil. He has a good idea of creating a google form that everyone can vote on for the final version. We see what that looks like. We might need to tweak it a little bit to include all possibilities.

Good to see you back, Krono! I think the hosts are, or should,d be, outside the BLF group buy. If Neal manages to get EE to make this with a good driver then I think just about everyone would want the whole light especially with the BLF designation etched into it. This is a BLF edition designed by flashaholics for flashaholics. We don’t care if the LED life will be shortened from 50k hours to just 100 hours.We want the same driver as stock with good modes and hopefully 3.5+ amps to the LED. We won’t be filing warranty claims in a few months if the LED burns out. My main concern is the same excellent driver as stock but with better modes. Its easy to bump the output if we want to. For just $3 or $4 more than an empty host I’ll take this with the stock driver and a NW XML emitter all day everyday. Its worth it for parts alone.
I've seen Neal's form and it looks pretty nice aside from a couple confusing questions and a mode order or two missing. Its a good idea to sort out what is more popular and just go with it.
If all goes well reach 200 is easy as people continue by joining.
I would not rush, take your time.
What would be the approx output difference with 3A, 3.5A, and 4A? Can’t you get 1000+ lumens out of XM-L2 with less than 3A?
