Group Buy-BLF X6-SE OP update-GB over.

Yeah… 300 units ordered! this sends a strong message to vendors…

Don’t mess with BLF

We got the power, man…

(Thanks for all the hard work, Krono)

Please leave the gitd o-rings for the little kiddie lights.

Thank You.

mu question is of there on the driver also voltage safety is ?

(for unprotected batteries that go unter the 3,7 volt) the flaslight go out ?

I think it’s fine as long as I can remove or replace it with a black one.
Seriously.
I’m a conservative old fart, but my grandkids might like it.

Yes I know dude is not correct, but I don’t care enough to find out what’s the word of the moment.

Why against last mode memory?

I like being able to chose where my light starts.
That’s me.
I like being able to make choices, not have them dictated to me by someone else.
With memory and ship to multiple addresses, I want 11, without 2.
You can hold me to that.

If both ways are possible, make some each way.
If a choice has to be made, run a poll of buyers.

Put whatever modes and blinkers that you want, I’m gonna swap drivers anyway. Did y’all see the latest addition to Dales OP in the give away post?

I am already at 86 and 87 for 2 CW. Put me down for 4 more, 2 more CW and 2 NW.

I use my flashlights on all modes depending on what I'm using them for, I use low modes more often than high. The flashlight's memory is way better than mine so when I switch the light on it is always a complete surprise which mode it is in, most annoying: I want low/moonlight and the d@#*rn thing blasts away on turbo. I don't understand how other people manage to use/like memory in actual flashlight use.

(that's why :-) )

With last mode without memory (strange way of saying it, but it has evolved this way) there's no surprises and with half-clicks I get within a wink to any mode.

start on high is good for my ,low too

a real flashcoholic have the button under control like a cowboy his revolver

Easy way to fix the low/moonlight vs Turbo surprise is to make moonlight a special function that can be accessed in a different way while the flashlight is off, so you always know what you’re getting when you turn your flashlight on that way: moonlight. This is how Olight Baton S20 works. Hold down button from off position, in two seconds you get moonlight mode. Cycling up through modes will cycle back to low, but not moonlight. The light must be turned off and started over with the hold button to get back moonlight. However, if the light is shut off while in moonlight, it will remember and start back there when it is turned on with a simple click the next time.

Here’s how I use this to control my light so there are no surprises: If I know I want moonlight, I go directly to it, not counting on the memory to be in the right place. If I want any other mode, I’ll simply turn on the light, then cycle up to it. When I know I’m heading out to somewhere that I want a specific mode for, I set it to that mode before I go, then turn it off. When I get to where I need the light, I know it is at the mode I want it at, and I can just use it. When I’m done using the light, I usually try to set it back to moonlight just to be in the habit of doing so. Then, if I forget to hold the button down, and simply click it instead to turn it on, I’m at the least dangerous light level.

On the subject, here’s how the S20’s strobe works: The light must already be on in any mode. You quick-double-click to get to strobe. From there, one click will turn it off. Turning the light back on resets it to the last non-strobe mode you had it set to. Also, while strobe is on, you can cycle out of it, starting at the last non-strobe mode you had it set at. From there, it will not cycle back to strobe. I like these UI choices. Both Moonlight and Strobe have to be accessed a special way, but leaving them is easy and will cycle back to normal mode selection of Low -> Med -> High -> (back to low, etc.)

It doesn’t really matter though, as we so far don’t have mode memory in this light. So, the “no mode memory” guys have already won, unless there is a change. But, just wanted to say that I think a good UI with mode memory is more flexible, meaning it can be used by more people comfortably than having several modes with no memory. Everybody has a bias toward a certain mode for their light. Some will only ever use this light on lower modes, some on higher modes, some on every mode in different circumstances. Some may be getting several of these lights with the idea of keeping them in different places for different uses, and may need some to start on low and some on high. Last Mode Memory is the only way to allow for this much diversity in mode preference, because it is the only way we can each have control over our own light. If someone doesn’t know how to use that control to their advantage, why should that stop the rest of us from having it?

Don’t all of the “hold button from off to moonlight mode” lights work using an electronic switch? The X6 will be a just a regular switch.

No long presses with a mechanical switch. Such is the way of things. No off time drain on the cell either.

Goes to show, you can please some of the people some of the time…

Hi, can you add me please for a one in Neutral White? thank you

Yeah, you need an electronic switch, which this light does not have. Just answering the question of why anyone would want mode memory or find it useful.

Well, I’m in for two anyway, and as long as it goes from lowest to highest, as I think it does, it will still be useful to me, just not quite as interesting. I’m in for your GAW of the heavily modded version of this light as well. Really looking forward to winning that one!

Wow, 322 and still going! Neal may want to consider getting more than only 500 units! This GB is running away!

Nice to see the final features come together

I’m in for one, CW

I knew this wouldn’t have an electronic switch, but I love how some lights have hold for moonlight and double click to turbo from off.

Blah, I might need to reconsider this if the mode memory has really been removed, since the modes go from moon—>turbo.

I only take medium sized light like this with me when I need a bright light. And when using that bright light, I don’t want to press the button 5 times to get it fully “on”.
If I want to use a light mainly on low output, I will only take an small AAA light with me, not one with 18650.

Maybe there could be options with different mode sequences or with/without memory? I would gladly give up the option of selecting tint, just to get option of selecting UI I like.
Or maybe there could be some solder-a-star -kind of function programmed in to activate the memory?
Anything to have an option of having the light to come on full power with just one click, please.

Mode memory hasn’t been removed AFAIK, it just never existed in this light, and so far they haven’t added it. Remember what we ARE getting though - for around $20! Re-read the OP for details. I prefer mode memory or no modes/single mode versus having 5 modes to click through every time without memory, like you said. But, this light will still be useful to me.
