Thanks got one for 46$ shipped.
Hi Neon, you can go for your choices now
Thanks, ordered 1 Nichia and 1 Cree (LEDs will be swapped anyway)
Yeah, i’ll definitely get an 18650 tube or even the 18500 tube if offered since I bought quite a few 18500 Vapcell cells recently when I bought extension tubes that work with 18500 cells from Emisar for my DW4.
Anyone know if they still sell the 18500 tube for their other older lights? I guess worse come to worse, I can just use a 18500 cell in the 18650 tube with extra magnets
As far as I understand, you get 2 extensions. If you use 1, that is for 18500. If you use 2, that is for 18650.
@Jetbeamlight can you confirm this?
I remember having a cheap plastic Chinese headlamp (Icon Irix II) from like 20 years ago with a rotating knob that claimed infinite variable brightness, but the low was like 10-15 lumens and after that it was off. Hope this RRT-o Raptor doesn’t go down to 5 lumens and then off or I will be returning this.
Also was hoping there would be a CCT rating of the 2 different LEDs before ordering window was opened. I ordered one of each and both with extension tubes. If these are both 6500k tint then a lot of people will be disappointed. Should have offered 5000k-6000k version, and the warmer 3000k-4000k version. If either or both have a green tint, they are being returned.
Would have been great to have more info on these before the ordering process was opened.
Great to know this if true.
Is it $95.99 with extension tube or I need glasses?
Mike
You need glasses
there is a discount code blf groupbuy, see first post
the promo code [BLF GROUPBUY] takes it down to the lower price.
It goes down to like 0.0001lm, you dont even see its on. But it works from turning on at some brightness and getting it down to that level, unless you use tail-switch. I had 3pcs, modded to Osram NM1, SFT40, SST-20 Deep Red, 519A 4500K, triple 519A 5700K DD but only left last one.
These just look like new old stock or such. The tubes used to come in a pair. One for 18500, 2 for 18650. Pretty ugly when setup to 18650. The light also went to super dim, barely visible mode. These just look like the same stock or reissue of the same kind with no changes (except maybe a USB c battery). Note, I didn’t use the battery in anything else as it was very long. I ended up adding a solder blob so I could use flat top batteries as the positive terminal was recessed.
Yeah, was really hoping for an updated version, but for the discounted price, I’m not going to complain. Curious to see how chunky this thing will be once the 18650 tube is installed, as rotaries in general tend to be on the chunkier side. It’ll give me a chance to test if a Convoy button top adapter will fit.
It’s VERY chunky with an 18650 inside. The extension tube segments are the same width as the head and are much wider than an 18650.
This light looks best with an 18350 and no extension tubes.
Eh, it can’t possibly be as bad as trying to pocket carry a Malkoff MD2, right? I’ll give it a shot and see how it goes.
Thanks for the offer!
Yes
I have to verify because I don’t want to misunderstand…
How many extensions come with the “with extension” option?
If you’re asking in order to do an emitter swap, here is one with good pictures from @TimMc :
Looks straightforward, although the limited space inside the head no doubt makes it take little more finesse than some lights.
Also, I see a long video here by @Cheule :
If trying to do more, I recall in the past seeing some more complicated mods to install triple emitter MCPCB’s and optics, and to inspect the driver and rotary control, but I assume the main interest is simply putting in nicer emitters, so I didn’t try to find those.
Thank you BLF friends, hope you will like the groupbuy, and if you want anything from us, feel free to DM me, happy new year.
