I love UI 3, and have my 3 modes set up like yours. I especially enjoy the momentary turbo by holding the button when the light is already running in another mode.
For those new to the Meteor, donât be intimidated by UI 3. Once you start using it, I think it becomes easy and intuitive.
Iâm excited for everyone who got a Meteor because of this awesome discount!
I tried to explain as simple as I could. The set up is really the only complicated part.
If you set up UI3 in a low medium high like I explained above, then you have a single click to on low, and go up in modes by double clicking. Press and hold from off or any level and the light ramps to full turbo, release the hold and it goes back to the level it was on. Single click from any level on, goes right to offâŚ
In use, this is much simpler than other UIâs like Olight or ArmyTek, both of which are good UIâs. Set up the Meteor UI3, and it is even simpler than Olight or ArmyTek in use.
The âtactical turboâ is just fun, blasting 6000+ lumen instantly is pretty cool, even though totally impractical for actual use, except of course, tacticallyâŚ
Thanks for the very informative post and for your efforts.
What scares me is the thought of remembering all those new procedures if I wanted a new UI or set-up. Haha, I canât even remember some of my traditional 4-mode lights that are still in their boxes! You know how it is to some people like meâŚas I said, if I only own one light or this light, all those procedures will just be second-nature to me.
@tatasal, I do keep a copy of the user manual (and had to refer to it during the previous posts) so I understand what you mean. I set mine up in UI3 and do not really do anything other than the tactical mode for showing off⌠There are tons of options with this light, but you do not have to use any if you do not want. I did spend some frustrated time trying to figure it all out, thus my post here. This is an impressive light, and UI3 caught a lot of flack for a while as the diagram did not make it clear how easy it was.
@saypat The âtacticalâ mode is one that is only on when the button is pressed and held. If you want to âblinkâ the light for a quick peek at something, this will do it as fast as you can blip the button. If you do five clicks and hold from off, the âtacticalâ mode is âonlyâ 1A, still bright⌠In whatever mode/level you want to set the âtacticalâ mode, you just have the light on in that level and do five clicks and hold. You can have a tactical moonlight mode if you want⌠On turbo, it is impressive for showing off⌠The full turbo in tactical mode and an air horn would be a constipation remedy for those easily startled at night if you came up behind them, especially if they had Siderodromophobia.
Indeed. Though I donât think thereâs much to improve or update in M43 (except adding tripod mount screw?). XHP LEDs certainly donât offer any notable boosts in performance in this kind of light, especially XHP35.
I was pretty sure they streaked across the night sky and you and Hank just went out and picked them up after they landed. Turns out thatâs not the case. Who knew⌠:face_with_monocle:
