Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

Once again I’m hundreds of posts behind with no email notices still. So, without specific reference because I didn’t save who it was that I wanted to respond to:

To get a steel slug out of an aluminum heat-sink try heating the whole thing from cold in an oven. That is how you get steel main-bearing races out of an aluminum motorcycle engine case; space the whole thing above the oven rack, then just listen for the ‘thunk’ when the steel falls out as it heats and remove all from the oven. 275 degrees F should do the trick without overheating the alloy

TomE must work for Lockheed’s “Skunkworks”. His designs with Narsil and the driver are the ultimate elegance of simplifying without losing functionality using the least necessary to achieve that. Man I wish I were that good :+1:

Cell magnets for a flat-top conversion might be feasible if there were a plastic spacer made, either hat-shaped like an LED centering ring or perhaps conical. ID of center hole fits the magnet, OD of spacer = OD of cell, thickness of spacer made to not interfere with any polarity-protection structures. Someone with a 3D printer might try this and if it works then there’s a market for many cell sizes awaiting them

Just loving how this light is coming together and in reading everyone’s related thoughts, prose, and poetry. What a fine bunch of folks here at BLF :sunglasses:

No, not the skunkworks, but I did actually work on mission planning software using custom hardware for USSOCOM, US Special Operations Command, and actually sat in those "special" blacked out, somewhat unmarked helicopters at Fort Campbell to see how our software and equipment was being used. This was way back in the 90's, but still can't say anymore bout it

FT. Campbell Ky. the 101st. where Screaming Eagles Roost!

Hi The Miller, I see that this project is very advanced, I am on the list with the number 661, I confirm a unit.

Greetings.

Yep, but I worked with the 160th SOAR out of Ft. Campbell, the Night Stalkers: http://www.campbell.army.mil/Tenant/Pages/160th.aspx

More info here on the unit: http://www.military.com/special-operations/160th-special-operations-aviation-regiment.html, http://www.soc.mil/USASOAC/160th.html.

Hello The Miller,

Just one remark about the mass PM groups list.

Between my name (albertopnp) and the previous one (Primal), there is an “n” instead of a “,”.
(Maybe a “faute de frappe” using a French keyboard?? )
Perhaps that’s not important, but I’m afraid of missing the PM with the coupon or the buy link.

By the way, thanks to all project members for the time and effort spent.

Hey The Miller, uh I checked your name just outa curiosity and you are not one the Mass PM list. You should probably add yourself there. Wouldn’t want to miss the Email you know. LOL. Hahaha.

Thanks, yes these are kind of things that need correcting before PMs can be send, thanks!
will correct it at next list update!

hi The Miller, confirm another one for me .

Thank you

Please save a spot in the list… I’m interested
