Is it my imagination or is the plastic protective ring (polarity protection) on the driver missing? I remember it was supposed to be glued on and hid the 2 screws. Did TF decide to ditch it?

Yeah, I didn’t even notice the inner one.
Does it really need them? It seems like the wrapper would keep the back metal surface from touching, but just barely.

FYI mine is the same as kbmeister. No protective rings.
It was asked by Thorfire to the Q8 team to not use the plastic ring (which was never our idea) because it did not really protect anything and it would ease both production and modding. We agreed upon that.

Supposed to be missing. Last min change from TF - they asked us, we said ok. Guess we forgot to mention it 
. I noticed it in the pics - actually was looking for it. I removed them from earlier prototypes anyway - no real purpose served.
