Thanks for the answer :+1:
Anyone know if thereās a timed step down in Ramping?
Yes, timed stepdown in both modes.
If you ramp down ever so slightly does it disable it?
Aw man, thatās very disappointing. Iāll give this a miss.
Thanks for the reply.
Itās really too bad. Otherwise, this really is a great light.
Which reminds me, I need to crack it open and see what MCU footprint this is using. It would be so much better with Anduril or even RampingIOS (D4 V2 UI). If itās like itās cousin once removed, the Sofirn SC31, itās a PIC-style SOIC8 which means an ATtiny412 could be dropped in. The (somewhat) hard part about that was the indicator LEDs for charging status went through the MCU which Iād need to get coded in if I wanted those to work right.
Does Anduril work on ATtiny412?
Not yet, but Iāve been tinkering with that in my āspare time.ā That would open up a lot of lights. I might have to strip out some of the āextrasā though to try and fit it into 4KB. Iāve had RampingIOS working on it for a year or two. I just need to find some more time to take another crack at Anduril.
Exciting! IIRC, blinkies take up a fair a bit of room, as does the beacon style lockout.
Ditch the blinkies, free up lots of room!
They have updated this light with some UI improvements. There is now hold from off to go straight to the lowest setting. Also the old one had hold for off in stepped mode, now itās single click for off and hold to adjust brightness in stepped mode just like ramping mode. I just received one of the new ones and I really like the UI. Itās like a really dumbed down anduril light.
Can you check if turbo time stepdown seems to exist in that version which you own?
Received an FC11 today, some thoughts:
- Can confirm the UI improvements jasontheguitarist mentioned. Quite good UI IMO
- Copper MCPCB, good thickness, looks like 17mm dia
- OP reflector, not sure if itās the reflector or lens but it creates a blue-ish halo/spill
- Aluminum head, MCPCB sits on a shelf (no pill)
- Button top, non-protected battery with 3000mah label
- Bezel is glued but easy to defeat
- There is a screw on the MCPCB side of the shelf that doesnāt look like itās there for securing the MCPCB itself
- Machining, threads, and O-rings look pretty good
- USB-C charges at 0.9A with the meter I have
For $30 with battery included, I think this might be one of the best values out there.
Ordered a ā5000k high CRIā version but pretty sure I got a normal cold white version. Reflowed a 4000K 90CRI and itās perfect.
Very cool!
I bought this light couple of weeks ago after seeing a lot of praise on BLF and reddit. I was surprised to find out that there is a slight delay after turn ON, maybe a third of a second. I feel the need to share, as this was not mentioned in the reviews Iāve seen/read.
Thank you for sharingļ¼

Mr Shao,
Please don't post these things outside the commercial seller's subforum. You will only get yourself into trouble posting commercially related stuff in reviews.
Please follow BLF's rules for commercial sellers: https://budgetlightforum.com/forum/misc/commercial
I suggest you move this information to my FC11 sales thread instead: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/60207
Thanks a lot for your understanding. :-)
Hey guys, Wurkkos reached out about me updating my review with the info on the 2020 update.
Like mentioned in Lux-Perpetuaās thread, here are updates for 2020:
- Operation of the stepped modes is now the same as the ramping. That is, click on / click off and hold you progress through the modes. No more hold for off!
- They added a shortcut for long press from off goes to Eco mode
- It now accepts USB-C to USB-C cables (USB Power Delivery).
These are very welcomed changes! Now the only thing on my wish list is a less conservative ramping down from Turbo. In my opinion, it ramps down too soon and too low. Just my 2 cents though. Overall, a great light made better!
Thatās because itās set on a timer, not temperature. Thereās an issue increasing that timer IF the light is already hot and someone reactivates turbo, if itās increased too much there could be an issue
nice review, 1300lm for only 90s seems to be too cautious, can it be charged with C to C cord?
