SFN55.2, SFQ55, SFN60, SFQ60, SFS80 and SFH55 LED info

Yesterday I recieved the SFQ60 that I ordered from Kaidomain and it is indeed a 7070 LED, just as KD had it listed on the Aliexpress store. I haven’t measured it (yet), but visually the 4-core LES of the SFQ60 seems to be (almost) the same size like the 4-core LES of the (5050) SFQ65 that I have.

A shame (again) that no datasheets are available.

Do you think that the ultra-high-power Sanan LEDs are witihin safe operating limits in regard of the temperature coefficient? I have the bad feeling that maybe this effect could be causing serious damage to these emitters at extreme currents, but I don’t know for sure.

I think you can get that on Taobao (basic datasheets), but otherwise i think they’re kept on a tight leash since every electronic company copies each other in China. Or ask someone who’s in the industry and they could get it.

As far as operating parameters/limits. These can be pushed pretty hard. Long tern reliability is a big ? Though. The sfn55.2 pulled 25+ A from a 26800, and the SFH55 pulled 30+ at over 9000 lumens. The SFP55.2L (the 25 die 11x11 version) i had in the NI03S took 50+ amps at the tailcap on Turbo on one of those HP21700s. They seem to work better in series/parallel like on the Nightwatch NS14 (6 v input).

I bought the led XHP110 5V 24A from Ali…On direct drive it was on 43 amps or so…Not usable for maximum brightness in any flashlight i guess:) . My another led fail here…And its big like it big can be…How to use it? Only direct drive in flashlight? No driver in 16mm for that right? We will try to use BLF6 fet driver and i will see…

There’s a few large-size flashlights which have multiple batteries usually driving an XHP70, either 4 in 2S2P or 26650/21700 in 2S (like the convoy L6 and M21G) You could try it in one of those.

In a 2S 21700 FET light with P45B it might be able to get close to the maximum, assuming the Vf isn’t too high.

Is it the same footprint as an SBT-90? It’d open up some more options of PCBs and hosts.

Fet driver for 5V?

If it comes in a 20mm board it can go in various Hank or Convoy lights.

Any idea where to buy SFP 55 led?

Yes
In the San’an Taobao store

I’m curious about the SFQ55.4 since there’s almost no information to be found about it, or at least I can’t find it.

I know that Nightwatch uses it a couple of its lights and now also Pioneman sells it in their Aliexpress store (in the K11 light or loose, but very expensive), but besides that I basicly can’t find anymore information about in any way, shape or form.

The SFQ50 is mentioned/shown in table/image in the OP, but I wonder if that information also applies for the .4 version, or is that an later/further developed version?!?

@yoelpez do you know anything more about this LED or maybe have (short) datasheet or maybe seen some test graphs or something?

A screenshot from the listing on the Pioneman store on Aliexpress:

The SFQ55 has four 55mil chips.
It comes in 3v, 6v and 12v.

6v:

Manufacturer rated for 4900 Lumens:

I don’t have any technical details, just some measurements from my Nightwatch NS14R V2:
CCT 6250k
Duv 0.0000 @ Turbo (subjectively a nothing-special whitish high CCT beam).
Output 21,300 lm with 14 LEDs, using AM04 (JP40 clone) battery.
Throw 550 m (it’s a floody beam, good throw number simply from the tremendous output).

As mentioned, of my few Nightwatches with “monster” level outputs this is by far my most favorite because of the smallish size. I am getting a second also in the near future.

Dang did you take this photo? It makes the light look higher CRI than some beamshots of actual high CRI lights!

1 Thank

It might be or might not be, but overall I’d just treat it as a regular ChangDa SFQ55 with some marketing words. Most non-Luminus Chinese emitters are extremely vague and opaque in terms of gen and bin, I wouldn’t take the seller’s words too seriously.

2 Thanks

Yes I did. Trying to land a job making ad photo for Neals. :slightly_smiling_face:

Kidding aside CRI ~ 71, same as my other NW & nothing unusual.

2 Thanks

This is the only way I could keep track of the alphabet soups for these LEDs in my various lights.
Now I realize SFQ55.4 might be the same as SFQ55 ??

2 Thanks

Are they 7070 or 5050?

The SFQ55 are 5050

SFQ55.4 looks to be the same size as the SFQ60 in my NW Chaos. So I think 5050.
(I added it to the wrong place in that table above.)

The no-name Chinese LEDs exist in a wild wild west of tints, bins, and RA and duv. What you get is what you get, and the consistency and quality is random at best. You might get a good one, you might get a dud. Forget about getting datasheets (ChangDa and San’an are the exceptions, but you got to dig for them or know the right peopleor be fluent in Chinese) or info like you do from Luminus, Cree, Soeul, Samsung, Osram/Phillips, or Nichia. The allure and objective is low-cost at relatively good performance, not quality or consistency.
