The Bort thread 🔦

Has that not been averted?

It was averted at the last minute in 2011, and the U.S. credit rating got downgraded anyway.
The U.S. credit rating might be downgraded some time soon, or maybe it won’t.

Haven’t decided on light/battery purchases yet but am watching these hilarious vids:

Have you watched Garage54? They do a lot of hilarious and interesting experiments.

Nice, had not heard of that one, just watched driving on springs

Aside from going down Youtube rabbit holes i am also a fan of NotAlwaysRight.

Here is one of many good ones:

I contacted them, they don’t have either battery i want.

When you first suggested it i priced it out and considered it, i tried pricing it out to buy the other day and they no longer appear to ship to Canada :rage:
I e-mailed them but no reply yet.

So i may end up going with Illumn despite the high shipping cost.
Probably order next week.

Well, the good new for us Americans is that our nation’s credit rating didn’t get downgraded.
It would have served us right (or at least our politicians) for getting so close to defaulting on our debt, but we got lucky this time. :+1:

I hope you can find some cells at a decent price up in Canada.
I know that Canada is better than the U.S. in many ways, but we Americans are blessed with the number of deals available to us.

Indeed

Yeah that is one thing Canadians notice, fringe items are far more plentiful in the USA. Just compare amazon.com to amazon.ca
That said, you can get more ridiculous items in the USA as well, one time I was in Texas, the gas station sold SA rated motor oil, not for use in cars built since 1930. Put that in a modern vehicle and it will destroy the engine.

Yes, Even though Illumn products are interesting, buying from Canada ends up very pricey. Paid a L3 Illumination L11C ~70$ . It does not worth it.

You’re confusing the brand of flashlights L3 Illumination that SBflashights made years ago

… with a Company named Illumn . Used to be called illumination supply in San Jose Ca. Run by 2 brothers Craig and Calvin .

By the way, if you put angled bracket around a link like this:
<http://www.sbflashlights.com/L3-Illumination-L11C-Cree-XPG2-p394.html>

you get this:

I’m not saying that you should do that, but it’s an option available to everyone.
