Are there 2 different versions? 1 for F8A/B and 1 for other models that don’t need fan control?
It will soon be available on Taobao “阿刁光電工作室”
There’ll be two versions, a refined v4.0 which has 4-layer PCB, capable of 30A+ Buck and 250A FET, at a cheaper price. And v4.20 that’s 6-layer PCB, capable of 40A+ Buck and 300A FET. Both equipped with fan controller.
I have a D8D inbound. It’s a 47mm driver with no fan. What driver would you recommend for it?
I have modded the D8D with both SFY55 and NBD110 LEDs, and the 47mm XBY 30A/250A driver worked fine, but that was all I had. I guess ideally you would want the driver that has the most regulated current available, since both those LEDs will pull 40A no problem, so the more the merrier.
I ordered an F8B through Superbuy, it’s with the agent now (got the inspection pics) and should hopefully ship soon.
Can’t wait for this insane wall of light ![]()
Running it with an EVE G16 46950 because I couldn’t easily get a 46120 battery to ship here sadly.
@worrub918 I’m not 100% sure, but this may be the v.4.2 driver @billy_s was speaking of.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I need
Got my D5F and SFP55 - 5500k today!
I really like the look of this spring. I think it will be easier to bypass.
Lets see what this driver can do!
I love the look of that light. It’ll be the next DDH I purchase.
Yeah, it’s nice. I got a 26650 extension for it incase I want to do a 6v build.
I also have a 26800 extension for it.
I got the D5F built up.
I had a few hangups with the driver build, which I traced down to a bad initial flow on the hot plate.
I eventually got it all ironed out and completed the build.
The new springs I’m trying are really easy to bypass/solder leads to.
Man. This SFP55 is retina searing!
I settled on the 26800 extension with one of the Convoy green cells for now.
I’m starting to get the hang of Anduril. I really like it. I think I want it in all of my lights.
I have a few more DDH hosts on the way, a couple of which should be here before the weekend.
ETA: Beamshot comparison
This 26800 gives a bit more current with a little less internal resistance and capacity. https://illumn.com/batteries/26800.html
I notice a slight visual difference with high current lights.
I actually just recently ordered 2 of those, but haven’t tested them yet.
I’ll get one charged up and test it soon.
Yesterday I received an order from Superbuy, which contained a bunch of goodies.
I had a few DDH hosts and the NBD110 Daydream 4500K high cri leds in the package.
I built up the DDH M4B and put one of the Daydreams in it, along with one of the @INeedMoreLumens 32mm Fet+1 drivers I recently built.
The Daydream is beautiful. I like it a lot. I’m not a major tint guy, but I find this to be perfect.
The M4B has onboard USBc charging built into the battery tube. The natural M4C does not have built in charging, but has a slot for a driver that has USBc. The quality of these DDH hosts is top notch. I’m hooked on them.
A few pics and unscientific beamshot comparisons.
ETA: For reference, the M21a pic has a fet driver that hits around 36-39 amps depending and battery.
Looks like I finally managed to order a few things from Superbuy:
DDH M0BC
DDH D2GC
DDH M4C
STARFISH Z3
Let’s see how this goes.
I’m curious about those 2
So am I
M0BC has a weird shallow reflector. I’m hoping to fit some sort of TIR optics.
The Z3 is a complete light. Looks similar to M21A but with a side switch. Lets see
It’s 23mm x 12mm so I think it’s the same/similar to the Convoy S21G Reflector.
