Welcome to the forum mikeCL. If you can find one, I highly recommend you get one. I think most have gone the the 64mm AR coated lens sold by CNQG. It will give you a nice increase in output.

I did get the flashlight today but I happen to notice it has a tail switch instead of being on the side near the head… plus it has those dreaded 3 mode light function…
is it possible to mod so I just get high?

Still a good light though. Friend has been using one every night for a few months without issue.
Not sure where you are finding these? That’s all they have.
They sold out of the DST pretty much way back in Oct, a few members have found hidden caches of the DST at their local HD, but I’m pretty sure those are all gone too.
Man I wish I would of known… part of me just wants to take the light back and get my money back… but I have no other flash lights around…
and I hate the three mode light… it must be so way you can stop that?
I don’t believe there is a way, apart from replacing the driver.
If you really want a DST there are a few listings on ebay left.

It has a XM-L in it, well the 4D one, the 4C has a XP-E or even a XP-G I really couldn’t tell all that well thru the packaging

I don’t think so. Not sure what the diameter is of the model you are referencing, but I believe the DST has the largest diameter lens at 64mm.

That light has some faithful followers. I wish I had bought one. The product page says overall diameter is 2.2”. That’s almost 56mm. If a 55mm lens fits, you should be able to find an AR lens pretty easy. 55mm is the same size as the SRK’s, D & C Mags (I think) and other lights like the common triple emitters.
