WOW! Solarstorm L3 7*XM-L and 6*18650

Thanks for the link Tecmo. Its sad that the emitters werent driven a bit harder. Pending beam shots, the added run time along with a cooler running host with more modes seems like a descent trade-off for SRK-like performance. Id still call this a descent buy for the money.

I wonder if the driver sense resistors can be swapped to bump up the amperage?

That Palight version is really tempting. I’ll see if it’s available elsewhere….

Mine maybe come today

if you find it please let me know, it’s so interesting I wanna have one :stuck_out_tongue:

@Pok: you know what to do  , a lot of people is waiting to hear/read about this fl. 8)

So how many lumens? Lux>?

Interested to hear what you think

OK… my quick test
.
Both Switches are electronic switch.

I tested with 4xShoshine 2800mA , after 30s
Ceiling Bounce

Ugghhh!!!

Could you describe the UI?

Two E-Switch

When you Turn on = always start with your ramping preset mode

Press switch B = Ramping preset mode > Hi mode > SOS mode
Ramping preset = Press and hold switch S
Strobe = double press switch S

Strobe = double press switch S
.
.
Strobe mode about 4-5 Hz

very nice description, thanks

tough to tell w/o actually using it, but that sounds like a great UI.

edit: does the tailcap come off or is the body/tail 1 piece?

Body and Tailcap, But I can’t twist maybe It’s glue.

pictures worth a thousand words… no picture, it’s just words …

I feel an urge to buy one and inlay gray burl to the recesses in the handle.

maybe that’s a little too much bling for a solarstorm.

Huge power source. Lots o’ XMLs. Is it possible to change the driver/switch and get this thing to live up to its potential?

Mana—t has a version of this light. If I find the link I’ll post it otherwise check the New Products link on their home page.

Really only ~2350 lumens. I am very sad.
