Ive tried calling him i have his phone number and yes i know his friends are my friends its a small church about 100 + - and they havemt heard from him ,seriously this was all he had even though he was bullheaded we were friends and as much as Howard had him brainwashed and he pumped up his lights,i knew better and always just laughed it off or ignored it because i didn’t want any confrontation

Well i hope to see him next week,but iam yrying to get howard to respond to some emails ie,where do his hosts come from before assembly and if he would provide a light for review ti someone on thia forum ,and he would only drop the price on his powerstar only 20.00 usd and that he doesn’t givenany out for review .I also accwpted his challenge to find a light that costs twice as much and puts out the power if his pathetically underpowered stingray with xmlt5s and he never responded to the challenge.
Only threads I could find on CPF he got hammered for his BS claims and locked not once, but twice for shilling lol.
I’ve observed from the sidelines so far but now I’m irked to the point of posting. Someone should get a group buy together and send a couple of his cells to HKJ, even if they test the stated capacity (doubtful IMO), seeing them stomped by all the high quality higher capacity cells would be impossible to refute. I’d be in for a few quid for the cost.
This thread, or the one made about the batteries, might even make it into the first page of Google search results, which would be poetic justice.
I remember about 5 ya on CPF when they posted. Here is the link to that whole thing.
Their website says right there on the front page “designed and assembled in the USA” I guess we all assemble our lights too since we remove tail caps and screw those back on. I don’t care if a company is selling overpriced product as long as it’s not just a re-branded Chinese light.
Thats a good udea i would buy a pair wait i forgot his re engineered batteries are over 12.00$ a piece ,ill pitch in and i know no light of his ,isnt worth it but i wish we could pitch in for a v.3 power star and have someone review it and stack it against lights in that price range and see how it fares and publicize it review.
I guess that’s what irks me. I don’t know why, the “Chinese” vendors do the same thing as far as inflated lumen ratings and battery capacities, as well as shilling, but at least their stuff is dirt cheap. This guy is selling the same stuff and marking it up 1000% however, effectively selling junk and duping people into believing it’s top of the line stuff. I guess what I’m saying is I think the vast majority of people understand that they get what they pay for with other vendors, his outright lies and deceit is hard to swallow.
His attitude, from what I’ve seen, is insufferable as well.
About the battery thing, if that materializes someone PM me and I’ll send them the money through PayPal.

Your lights blasted his away, done and for a lower price, double victory. Why support a company selling overpriced stuff?
If you want a review, ask your friend if you can borrow his for a week while he uses a brighter light from you and make a review !)
I can’t speak for light junkie, but for me the reason is for more than just this particular incident. If the information debunking some of his claims are out there from a respected reviewer, then there’s a good chance that when the results will show up in a Google search people would be more inclined to trust the review and perhaps save the them from being duped by his claims.
I see ypur point The Miller man but iam going to have to side with texlite on this one because iam to close on this and biased,say if the sent to TomE or somone as qaulufies as him as I am pretty sure eberyone knows how i feel about Howard and his lights .He wont even send one for review only 20.00$ i have had better offers from Acebeam and zuessray.
Thing is, we can’t do that with all outragious claims, we did for the hugely aggresive advertising G700.

That would mean he is so stupid he could not even get a lightly modded WF502 to sell for $30 but would have done a G700 like Ultrafire host
While it may be unlikely, the monster brand could listen to people here, and end up producing a modern powerful light. While they might be using xml2 u3 bins that have been out for a couple of years, I doubt that they are using noctigons or any high current FET drivers. I’d like to hear about spring resisance, wire gauge, heat transfer and amount of copper used if any. Performance wise it’s already been shown that these lights don’t keep up with lights around the same money.
You would have to presume that he’s using actual 2600 batteries. Bare cells shouldn’t cost him more than 2 or 3 dollars wrapping them and IC board shouldn’t be more then 2 dollars. It’s nice to see that he recognizes fake cells with 4000mAh rating. But now Panasonic 3400’s are really commonplace and 3500 LGs are available too. But if you pay 5 or 6 dollars for a bare 3500GA then it’s really cutting into the profits. After looking at HJKs comparitor, the 3500 Sanyo cells handle current better and have more capacity so performace wise it is better in multiple aspects… Price is really the only drawback.
Monster isnt even using xml2-u3s they are the earlier 3 year old version prior to the xml2 ’s they are in fact outdated xmlu3s that noone uses at all ,iam sure he bought yhem as cleareance item from cree or a Chinese vendor agaim i have asked him where do his hosts come from and he wont answer.
Nitecore’s TM16 can be had for around $150 and would make that light look horrible. (ok, They already made it look horrible) Output wise, I mean. Build quality on the TM16 is outstanding, the 4 XM-L2’s put out a very nice beam profile, I wish I’d kept the one I gave away…

Or maybe he had a lot more social capital invested in his ‘light bearer’ role & your cheap Chinese torches shamed him more than you expected… You may end up having to gift him that Acebeam to mend fences…
