RMM, will you be stocking XP-E2 green, blue or other color in the future? I ordered a XP-E2 red and driver from you and put it in a S2+ host and it was pretty awesome, so I wanted to try other colors. However, I can’t seem to find anyone selling other color XP-E2.

I actually might be in the future, but I don't have any right now. The guy to check with is probably cereal_killer, I know he's been using them in his multi-color projects and might have some on hand at a decent price.

Ok, on my hot rod L6, I took the plunger down from 11.0 mm to 8.9 mm or so. The 26700 now fits, though a little tight - maybe another 0.5 mm would be better, but I'll use it this way.

-> 5.7A now at 4.15v on the KK 26700 cell, on a 4C tint, doing lumens of 1,445 @start, 1,384 @30 secs. Like'n it Smile, specially with 5300+ mAh in a light the size of a C8.

Could do better though on a UCL - gotta check if I got a spare one...

Thanks!

I just realize you have new lights in your store. Looks like there are 3-4 modes for the L5 and L6. How low are the low on them? Is it similar to the M6?

Interested in getting the mod 2 option with T6-4C

I have a UCL lens for a C8 - fits the SupFire L6 perfectly. I measured a 5.4% increase on the same cell, under an hour later. It's now doing 1,459 lumens @30 secs in a nice 4C tint!

The low isn't as low as the M6, that driver can go crazy low. It is as low as the FET driver goes, but it is still about 1 lumen I think (my meter isn't very accurate at sub-lumen levels).

The F13 and clones are a 40.5mm head diameter and take a 37 mm lens. IOS used to sell 37 mm's and I had two, just put one in a F13 from GearBest this evening and got a small bump, maybe 1.5-2%.

Think I put in a request for 37's for UCL/p (plastic) with Chris at flashlightlens.com - haven't heard back yet. If he does get them, thinking they should fit the L5 as well. He made up the Yezl Y3 size UCL/p's for me before, and said it doesn't cost him much, if at all. For custom made UCL's (glass), it's a big investment.

I just noticed the new Supfires, and I'm digging that L6 especially for the price. Does a 17mm NANJG driver fit? I noticed in our review Tom that you said it's not the best setup for the NANJG, but wasn't sure if it fits.

EDIT: And $9 for a 26650 and charger is really cheap. Are they actually pretty decent to the point where I won't have to worry about killing a friend by gifting it to them? :)

that great - I have a modded f13 right now with a UCL - I will pirate the lens from it for now as its just a modest XML2 direct drive mod :slight_smile:

Wait - what size UCL do you have in the F13? Right now, the only in-stock UCL sizes FFL has in this ranges are: 33.27 and 41.8, and shows out-of-stock for a 35.

My F13 is doing 1,387 OTF @30 secs @4.66A, 37.5 kcd (Nanjg piggybacked & stacked, custom modes) on a KK 26700 - XM-L2 U2-1A with the IOS 37 mm AR lens. With the 26700 at 5300+ mAh, it will certainly have a pretty good runtime .

i dont remember what size it is - I believe I bought it from Ios…. have to measure later

Ohh - FFL is the only one who sells UCL's - if it's from Hank at IOS, it's an AR lens, then probably the same I got - 37 mm. I got only a small bump from the IOS AR's - not so good, UCL's are much better. Just got 5.4% bump in a L6 on a UCL, and 1.5% bump on the 37 mm IOS AR lens.

Edit: Ok -- Chris from FFL just emailed the new sizes of UCLp's of 36.0 mm and 37.0 mm are now listed up on FlashlightLens.com (http://www.flashlightlens.com/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=UCLp_AR) !! I'm getting my order in today, but not sure which size will fit the L5 best, but I need them for other lights anyway (UniqueFire M6 is 36 and F13's are 37).

It is 17mm but I think that a 105C would be a pain to fit in there because of the retaining ring. It's the same problem as the HD 2010. I had to move the capacitor and diode to get it to fit with the FET driver. There is plenty of depth so I may try and just add some depth to the pill ledge so that the driver can sit deeper.

I suspect that the 26650 is actually a rewrapped King Kong, but I'm not sure yet. I'm going to rip the wrapper off of one to check it out and do some side-by-side tests. The charger seems like it is decent, I have a few cells charging on them right now. They charge at about 0.65A, so not rocket fast, but workable.

Unclear from the listing, at least to me. One photo shows a 18650 adapter sleeve included with the L5 light but such is not mentioned in your list of included items. Is the sleeve included or not?

It is included.

Richard;

Have you considered taking a look at the new third generation Mag Lites and seeing what you can do with them? Give you a new category of lights, NiMH battery lights. Old Lumens has a video review of them just posted and indicates he likes what he sees.

I looked at his video and honestly they are pretty nice for Alkaline/NiMH in factory form. They seem to be buck/boost and even have different mode groups! Pretty snazzy stuff.

Someone has to make parts for Richard to sell them, or figure out how to boost the maglite driver. At least let OL develop a formula for modding first. _

Maybe now there will be enough demand for Richard to start stocking NiMH cells. But then again he might not be able to compete enough with Battery Junction to make it worth his time.

IMO any one who tries to use them much with alkalines in high mode is going to be buying LOTS of batteries as the listed current draw will kill them quickly. I always figured that MagLite in the past kept the LED lights output way down due to wanting to preserve alkaline battery compatibility but the high mode on the new lights and Old Lumens current draws listed will make alkalines unhappy in short order I suspect.

That, plus the price difference, makes me suspect that the new lights will be an upgrade version rather than replace the older lines.

I kind of see the new third generation MagLites as replacements for the Fenix TK50 and TK60 D cell lights which are now out of production. I have one of each.

Ah cool, I'll just machine the ledge in the pocket further down then.
