Q8 Samsung button tops for USA (30Q's ready to ship, please read OP)

How to order

The Samsung 30Q button tops are in stock and ready to ship.

The GA’s are expected to be in stock between June 21st and July 5th. (most likely June 26th ish)

Those on the interest list below can now go to https://liionwholesale.com/pages/blf-group-buy and fill out the brief form. This will fill out a custom invoice that will be emailed to you within a day or two. That email will contain a link to the store at the group buy price.

If you want both 30Q’s and GA’s, you have the choice to fill out the form once for both. However your order won’t ship until the GA’s are in.
You can fill the form out twice, Once for 30Q’s and once for GA’s, and they will ship separately, however you will incur two shipping costs. If all you ordered were 30Q’s, then you’re good to go.

The GA’s are sold out for now , but there are 30Q’s left for people not yet on the list

Any questions, feel free to post or PM me.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

USA interest list for Samsung 30Q button top, and NCR18650GA protected cells, for the BLF Q8.

The Group Buy is capped at 1000 30Q’s
The GA’s are sold out for the time being
Delivery looks like mid June

I talked to Jon at Liionwholesale about doing a group buy for Samsung 30Q button top cells for US people who are expecting to purchase the BLF Q8. I have seen problems in the past from Chinese sellers, either getting the flat top vs button top orders mixed up, and some shipping problems, not to mention 1 month long wait after ordering.

Good news is, US people don’t need to order these from China to get a good deal and super fast delivery. The required 500 cells has been reached for the deal to happen.

$5.09 each plus $3.05 first class shipping for qty 4. Works out to 5.85 each qty 4.

8 to 16 cells can ship flat rate priority for $6.30. So, if you ordered 12 batteries, it would work out to $5.62 each. 16 would work out to $5.48 each.

Plastic cases come with all cells. See post #162

Also available are Panasonic/Sanyo NCR18650GA protected cells. They will be equipped with a Seiko PCB with AO MOSFETs for 12-13A high current cutoff. If you are giving one of these lights to an non-enthusiast, quality protected cells are the way to go for piece of mind.
Price is $6.92 each, same shipping as above.

I will PM the discount code to be used on the website. Also, I want to say, I have no financial interest in this. Jon has been a trusted seller for years, many on this forum already deal with him, and I just want to see all of us get a good deal.

I doesn’t matter what number you are on this list, only that you are on the list. Codes will be sent all at the same time.

User name and number of cells you want.

Maybe you can contact The Miller and have this info displayed on his first post of the Q8 thread? Just an idea… Cheers!

I usually get mine in 2 days, 3 days max. I’ve spoken to Jon on the phone a couple of times. He didn’t rush me at all. Nice guy.

So I have to ask. Are the button tops required, or is this optional?

Reason I ask, is I can solderblob the tops myself

Yes, you can solder blob if you want. Button tops are nice so you don’t have to do that, and you can get a new matched set, for cheaper than new set of flat tops.

Put me down for 12 30Q BT's please. I've emailed a lot with Jon - great guy, real good US pricing for the most part.

I think I was the one who introduced him to BLF. Please gently bug him bout stock on the protected GA's, also his price on the VTC6's is a bit high at $8.09, but not seeing them much cheaper around in the US (MtnE at $8.29, IMRBatteries at $8).

He does have protected MJ1's though in stock. Weird the protected ones are cheaper than the button top ones.

I'm fine with solderblobbing. I just recently ordered 10 from the same seller. Good practice having batts from the same lot in cases of multiples.

I'll keep this in mind, and may order another ten. Will let you know for sure.

Thanks

Sometimes he runs sales. He does use nice Seiko protection circuits. I’ve bought several of his protected GA’s for Fenix camp lanterns. My kids have their own tent, and always fall asleep with the light on.. lol

His protected circuits are the best I've seen or heard of -- incredible really. In tests in the Q8 protos, virtually no loss of amps. I like the high amp trip points are above the rated amps of the cells too -- 10A rated, trip is 11A-12A.

I’ll ask him, but the recommended cells for the Q8 to maximize output is the Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC6 which are virtually identical. General conciseness was the 30Q, best bang for the buck.

The 30Q is a great cell although I find myself using the GA’s more in most lights. The lower current is nice since it extends overall runtime on top of the higher starting capacity. Also reduces heat output.

Either will work great though since we have ramping to easily pick exactly how bright and hot you want it.

I will just toss whatever I have laying around in mine.
