So I bought this Dongrui All-920 (Q5) to use it as a mod host with an XP-G based on VFMaddict's posting about it. I received the light yesterday and have tested it out briefly. The light is pretty nice quality, although the battery tube is very very thin. It has double o-rings at the tailcap, space for double o-rings at the top (only came with 1), GITD o-ring in the bezel, GITD tailcap (I assume, but it hasn't glowed for me yet), a nice deep smooth reflector, and does not tailstand due to the protruding switch. The lanyard it comes with is better than the ones that came with my KD C8.
So I start testing the light and seeing what it can do and I'm like "HOLY CRAP"!!! This sucker can throw! (This is my first real thrower.) The hotspot is just slightly smaller than my Palight XP-G R5 and more defined (more focused) when viewed against a white wall at 20'. At one of my test locations I aim toward a barn across a field which is 600' away. This light lights up the entire side of the barn (guessing barn's height to be +/- 40' to 50'). The result looks very similar to my R5, although the R5 is a bit dimmer. (The R5 is driven at 1.4A.) I believe this light could easily do 1000'.
I checked tailcap currents with a 2400mAh Trustfire Flame at 3.92v at:
High: 1.96A
Low: 0.41A
I can't comment on heat dissipation as I was using it outside in 15 degree F temperature. I never felt the body get warm at all (and I did place it against my cheek to check).
Here are a couple beamshots. Top is the Dongrui, below is the Palight XP-G R5. Beamshots taken similar to my older beamshot post, but I backed up another 120'. Also, I said in that previous thread that the distance to the shed was 250'. I believe it is more like 200', might only be 150' (one of these days I'll measure that distance). So in these shots I'll estimate the distance to that shed as 300'. (Distance to that utility pole is about 60'; to the wooden fence post just to the left of the pole is about 120'.)

The beamshots aren't the greatest and I don't feel like is shows off the Dongrui like it should. The shed is lit up brighter by the Dongrui. I had to use my cheap Nikon camera that I hate set to "Night Landscape". When taking the photo it flashes the flash a couple times before taking the shot. I couldn't disable the flash in this mode. I think all the light in the foreground is from the flash. The Dongrui has a very dim (but usable) spill outside of the hotspot. I also have to apologize for the poor photo quality. I later found out that someone had switched the camera's setting to 640x480 resolution! (Man that ticked me off!)
So I don't know whether to mod this light or not! Maybe upgrade it to an R2? Maybe buy another (it's only $13.50) and keep one an XR-E and another an XP-G.
I'll end with a couple photos of the light:
EDIT 2-13-2012 - More Photos Added:
Reflector measurements:
(Reflector is in fact aluminum and the head has a step that the reflector sits in nicely.)

EDIT - 3-26-2012:
Took some beamshots of various lights and so I thought I'd update this post.
Here is the Dongrui All-920 (150 to 200 feet to the shed):
(See what I've been meaning by large hotspot thrower with very useable spill?)
Next is my Super Tactics Q5 thrower (+/- 1.6A):
(You can barely see that the hotspot is smaller than the Dongrui's. Also, this one is more of a true cool white, while the Dongrui shows a little purple.)
Here is a mouse over (Dongrui = mouse out and Super Tactics =mouse over):
