Dc-fix will take a really bad beam and turn it into soft buttery smooth delight with amazingly low light loss (3.2% ) I've found myself using more and more diffuser film to soften artifacts ,cancel out ugly rings and create a floody smooth beam . If you've wanted to try it ...

Compared with Sunlike SOL 4000K 99CRI, tested here (not the same sample), It’s a COB in a light-bulb, compared to the sun it appears very neutral.

I sent a PM. Does anyone know how to affix the filter to the outside of the lens? I want to use some on a Wurkkos FC11, I can get that one apart and put filter behind the lens. But what about on lights you can’t get apart?

no.1 has sticky adhesive.

  • You could find an object that’s a similar shape as the lens and use that to draw a circle on the paper for the adhesive.
  • Use scissors to cut a circle.
  • Try to position the circle on the lens without removing the paper cover for the adhesive to see if it fits.
  • Cut it down a little more until it fits.
  • Wipe the lens with a microfibre cloth to get rid of finger smudges or dust,l.
  • Remove the paper from the film.
  • Stick the film to the lens.
  • Press any bubbles out.

That’s the approach I used. There might be easier an easier way.

I assume mbp is talking about the color filter rather than the diffuser, personally I used tiny amount of glue from a glue stick around the edge. It works ok but a water resistant glue might be better.

I tried using 3 small dots of super glue to attach a minus green filter to dc-fix 1. It left some ugly marks on the filter and bezel.

I also tried Elmer’s Clear glue and that didn’t hold.

Are there other suitable glues?

I wonder would it be possible to install with a bit of water between the film and the glass, similar to some smartphone protective films?

Manker E14III NW with #F1 1/8 minus green filter:

Green almost completely gone on low.
It doesn’t look green on Medium/High/Turbo now. :+1:
