I understand what you are saying JasonWW. But the Miller is not around.
I think all Jerommel was saying is to start a New GT thread where post #1 could be updated with relevant, up to date information.
Then close this thread with a link left here for the new thread.
The “new thread” would just be a continuation of this one….. with the real exception that the original post (OP) could be updated with Real Time information instead of being stuck as now with information that is totally irrelevant (for the most part) to what is going on now.
Whatever the reasoning was in the beginning is out the window now, due to circumstances it has proved itself flawed.
Time to move on possibly & stop trying to ride a dead horse.
My opinion, YMMV. …

Well, it would be The Millers group buy if he was still here running it. I place no blame onto him, folks get sick, that’s life. But by not being here it’s no longer his group buy. It’s the group buy of the folks who are actually doing it now.
IMO, do it the way you want to. Next group buy if he wants to run it again, he goes back to running it the way he wants to. It’s no disrespect to him, but everyone does things slightly different.
One thing that i could never understand why the Mr.admin never came in to help and edit the title and some additional info into the first post.
BLF is the first forum where there is absolute absence of moderators and for me it feels weird. Getting help from mods/admins it is a good idea in such cases.
This light is the best light ever. I would like to get on the list for another one becuase having two of these is better then 1 even at a slightly higher price. Idk if I can get on the list for another but if I can that would be great
Btw thank you to everyone that was involved in the design and creation of this light. Also to thoughs that oragized this whole group buy. Amazing effort and it payed off big time. This is my fav light hands down.

We are generally a self moderating forum, with the only mod/admin being the site owner. I am not sure if anyone has contacted SB to ask if he could do such a thing. I am sure if someone asked he would consider adding info to the post

It might be he was never asked to. He is always very accommodating as far as I know.

Anyone else get any cracking/clinking noises from what seems to be the lens as the light heats up?
It did it when I first double clicked into turbo and it made a crack like breaking glass and my heart skipped a beat. Nothing noticeable changed, and it still functions the same.
I later used it for room illumination tail standing it on turbo for 10 minutes or so, and it made the same noise several times, but the lens didn’t crack. I haven’t removed the front bezel and I don’t plan to; I have a feeling if it was going to crack, it would be when I loosen the bezel.
Other than that, it’s very impressive! Haven’t gotten a chance to stretch it out outside yet, though.

I’ve seen such mentions on reddit.
Mine did the same. I figured it had to do with the massive piece of glass settling after heating up/cooling down. It has been about -5F outside when I’ve used it, coming back inside it makes some clinking noises that definitely startled me the first few times.

Yes, mine did that the first time I took it out of the box, and has done so a couple of times since as it went through temperature changes going from the car into the house. I haven’t noticed anything detrimental occurring to the light but it did concern me at first.

anybody know where to get their hands on a handle like this, let me know…looks like it would be a slick setup for the mildly heavy blf gt
and yall think the gt is heavy, this thing clocks in at over 8 lbs !
but man, 4.5 mill lux, and 7500 lumens, me likey
what would stop somebody from putting the same hid and driver in the blf gt i wonder ?
If I remember right, the reflector for an HID needs to be designed different than an LED. That, and you would need to machine out the head to accept the HID bulb, and find a way to mount the ballast

I get an occasional “TINK” sound that is faint, doesn’t sound like breaking glass at all. mine does it inside at 70 degrees F or out side at -10 degrees F.
while im on the subject of handles and mods, i got to looking at some extra rubbermaid lids i had laying around
heres what they call a number 2, fits the bezel perfectly
works as a nice diffuser also
more threads will not help…
just adding places to post the same questions multiple times.
I agree. Hopefully the next group buy will be better staged to avoid what’s happened in the thread. A thread like this needs moderation.
The team need to have that option to appoint volunteers for the task, if they choose not to take it on themselves.
Just to be clear, I was not suggesting another thread.
I was / am suggesting a Replacement Thread & CLOSETHISONE. .

Sure there could be a “Team Account”.
Pick a “Team user name”, set up a “Team email address”, set up the BLF account, and each “Team member” has the account & email password.
Then there is not the problem associated with one person having control of the account and no timely needed updates (or whatever) if that one person is not around…. as is the case at the moment.
