I had requested the UV5R, though I don’t know what wattage it is.

Here is a good site I stumbled across that should give good info on that, and other similar ones:

UV3R

So you must get 2 sets of either one to get 2 radios to talk between?
No sets like 2 radios + one charger?

I had requested the "UV5R":http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/10349, though I don't know what wattage it is.

Here it is, but please don't disscuss advantages of the 3 or 5 Watt product in this thread. Open a new, edit one of your posts here and write down the link to the thread. Everyone else, who is interested in could find all information in one thread. Thank you Smile

Maybe useful for a DIY project:

Titanized High Speed Steel Drill Bit in different sizes: 4-32mm, 4-20mm, 4-12mm. You can get all three for $20,66 each separate for $4,19, $6,79, $ 11,05 My Link - non aff-link

Edit now a few more. Same size, but cheaper (all three in a box) for $17,80 My link

Now FT has a lot of Tekut knives. Here are only a few. Tekut uses 7Cr17MoV steel for the knives and not the 8Cr13MoV like Sanrenmu or Enlan. SOG uses this steel in a few knives.
I don't own a Tekut and would prefer a SRM if the design is similar, because SRM would be cheaper and I like the quality of SRM. But Tkut have some designs, which looks interesting.

TEKUT LK4120 Fire Snake Stainless Steel Folding Knife 62mm blade.Closed length 89mm, opened 151mm, blade thickness 2,2mm, weight 59g. Price $11,73   , my link  non aff-link

TEKUT LK4118 PENGU Stainless Steel Folding Knife 70mm blade / blue.Closed length 99mm, opened 169mm, blade thickness 2,4mm, weight 64g. Price $9,39   , my link  non aff-link

The next knives are available in a few different styles. In blue, black or rainbow colored, with a 65mm balde or sthe small version with a 43mm blade.

TEKUT LK5063A/B/C Pecker Stainless Steel Folding Knife 65mm blade (Pecker mini 43mm).Closed length 93mm (mini 69mm), opened 158mm (mini 112mm), blade thickness 2mm (mini 1,5mm). Price $8,89    (mini $6,97 ) , my link  non aff-link

And two more

TEKUT LK4105 Chopper Stainless Steel Folding Knife 56mm blade / black. Closed length 89mm, opened 135mm, blade thickness 1,8mm, weight 50g. Price $7,82   , my link  non aff-link

TEKUT LK5035A Fairy Stainless Steel Folding Knife 71mm blade / rainbow colorClosed length 100mm, opened 171mm, blade thickness 2,2mm, weight 87g. Price $8,58   , my link  non aff-link

You forgot "vaping gear" Sealed

That UV-5R is a decent little rig, I have a Puxing PX-777+ and a MTC UV-X4 (which I believe is the Beofeng UV-3R) and they work rather well..on the dual band you can program in both the non-regulated (you wont need a license) GRMS/FRS [limited to .5 watts] and MURS frequencies and if you are a HAMer they actually have pretty good range with DIY antennas, and can use a myriad of repeaters

You don't need a license to listen...only Transmit...

During an emergency the HAMers come out of the woodwork..and even though everything else is down...trust me...they ARE still talking

Why why WHY can’t they make a proper quality 3xAA holder instead of this 0.50$ piece of you know what, starts with “s”!!!

Unfortunately even the seller with nice quality holders on pictures is shipping X3 with cheap plastic one. 5 mode only and the same price as the one from banggood with 2 groups driver. Intl-outdoor has much nicer modes selection with less bright lower modes (2% and 25% instead of 5 and 40%) but is it worth $15 extra?

About L5 – description says XM-L2 U2 1A, picture shows warm white emitter.

Probably because most of suggestions were for vaping/e-cigarette products: http://www.fasttech.com/forums/feedback/t/1122028/boxing-day-sale-door-c...

Yep.  Even when there are suggestions, fellow flashaholics aren't supporting each other.

Yes, Father, sorry! :)
Buwuve, have you considered starting your own mega-shill-referal-link flashlight forum? Then you may feel free to make up your own rules as you go along. Asking others to remove their comments is extremely rude... so please chill. I and many BLF members left the CPF nazi's to get away from that type of attitude. This thread has far less value than fasttech itself, which isnt saying much. According to a Paypal rep, complaints are through the roof with this awful vendor. Merry Christmas to all the non-referral link flashaholics out there! J)

Being passive aggressive isn't any better.

There's one big benefit to this thread that only a few people have been clever enough to figure out.  It keeps a record of their initial price, which is especially useful if they conform to MAP and you want to request pre-MAP pricing from FT or even other vendors.

The low mode should be lower.

While it’s a bit like being behaviour corrrected back in school, I have to admit there is some logic to that. Since Fasttech went off the rails, and with all the vaping gear being carpet bombed on their new products pages daily, this thread has resulting in me becoming aware of items I’m interested in before I would have seen them otherwise. EG: I ordered one of the Baofeng 3W units, and when the 5W got listed grabbed one of them too, both brought to my attention via this thread. I also appreciate that some of the comments shed some light on things, like this:

Quote:
Tekut uses 7Cr17MoV steel for the knives and not the 8Cr13MoV like Sanrenmu or Enlan. SOG uses this steel in a few knives.
I don’t own a Tekut and would prefer a SRM if the design is similar, because SRM would be cheaper and I like the quality of SRM. But Tkut have some designs, which looks interesting.
From a backpacker’s standpoint those Peckers look interesting so I plan to order one soon. (My last FT order with a cheap CRKT knive got sent back by Chinese Customs yesterday BTW)

So overall, I’m finding this thread has value, nor my shorts don’t get too twisted in a knot when other members chime in with their valuable feedback either. Anyone else got a Pecker that they’ve used BTW?

Regards, TS

FT listed some more Conyoy L5 LED variations. I will add this to my post of 14. Jan, because thre are some pictures of the L5.

Now Fasttech listed two knives of RealSteel, but named these Sanrenmu. This is not 100% correct. Sanrenmu is a big OEM manufacturer and produced the knives for RealSteel, the designer is the same (his name: Liang Gang), but both companies do not belong together like Enlan and Bee.
I have written a few reviews about some RealStel knives (at the moment they are in German and not translated into English). I will open a new thread about this brand.

The two knives look like the bigger brother of the Sanrenmu 763 (not with axislock, but the newer Sanrenmu 7063 have a linerlock,  too).

Sanrenmu RealSteel E963 Stainless Steel Folding Knife black or and handle / 85mm blade / liner lock. Here is the link to my review (it's in German, but you will get a few more pictures and a short comparison to the LB763). $30. My link   -   non aff-link.

Navy K633ps 440C, Stainless Steel Half Serrated Lock Back Folding Knife w/ nylon sheath. Black FRN handle. $16,46. My link   -   non aff-link  I ordered the not serrated version two weeks ago and will comapre it with the G10 handel of the Navy K631.

You like colors?  Sanrenmu LP-617 Stainless Steel Folding Knife / 53mm blade / liner lock. Available in pink, red, orange, green (I would call it yellowgreen), blue (this looks more like mint green). $8,40. My link - non aff-link

And some tools for the keyring made by NexTool. Each has some other functions. Price for each round about $7,70. My link - non aff-link

I know how the last looks, sorry for this

It’s been some time since I made a purchase of a Nitecore from Fasttech, but now see that their prices are actually high.

I recognize that MAP may be in play here, but do they offer a discount on them, other than the 5% off, if contacted privately?

thanks…

some of the newer Nitecores look nice but the prices that Fasttech used to charge would have made them within reach

Be careful if they offer you a discount – you’re expected to pay full price up front, and then you’re supposed to get a ‘rebate’.

Well….maybe some folks did. I sure as hell didn’t. I have a D40A here that I paid the full $79 for, and it’s CW instead of the requested NW – and it didn’t have the holster when it arrived.

Now, I’m a generous man and fortunately I can afford it and it didn’t cause me any hardship. But NOTHING pisses me off like being lied to and cheated. FastTech has screwed me once, and I flat guarantee you it’s the last time. In addition I will tell everyone, at every opportunity.

They cheated me for $20, and I’m going to do my best to make sure it costs them $200 at the very least.

Come to think of it, I guess I’m a kind of a vindictive old bastard. Ah well, c’est la vie. J)

I’m assuming you did, but did you contact them about not receiving the rebate? And they refused to give you what was agreed upon?

Now they have also purple tritium. Green is the brightest. Please check the customs laws of your country. In some tritium isn't legal for example in Germany you can get some problems.
Price is the same as the others, which Chloe posted $11,29. My link - non aff-link

Batteries - some with special max. voltage (LG, Samsung). Use BLF so save 5%.

Today some new knives are listed, too. Some I haven't seen before and some which are known from other store for a longer time.

I start with some knives: Ganzo G701 in 3 versions. The blade color is always grey, but the handle colors are different. Available are black, green and tan - like the G704 colors. Bladelength 84mm. Price (green/tan): $17,52, black $17,08. My link - non aff-link

Authentic TEKUT LK5268 Wolf Paw Stainless Steel Folding Knife 60mm blade / black, 7Cr17MoV. On the handle are some footmarks of a wolf (looks a little bit like the Jack Wolfskin logo) Price $16,80 My link - non aff-link

The next knives are avialable with a blade length of 90, 75, 68 and 55mm. They aren't new on the market (Vaialable in other shops since a few years). The 90mm version is avaialable in black/grey camo, the others are available in black, too. It has an interesting way to open and close it (short video). The is a knock off the Kershaw ET.Kershaw ET
Price for the 90mm is $10 and the cheapest 55mm version $5,15.

Authentic Sanrenmu B4-733 Stainless Steel Folding Knife,  64mm blade, 8Cr13MoV, carabineer Clip. Price $11,30 My link - non aff-link

Ganzo G302B Stainless Steel Multi-Tool. If you need a multi-tool and Leatherman or Victorinox is to expensive - I know that the Leathermans in the US are cheaper as her in Europe. I ordered a Ganzo 301 a year ago for a friend who want to give it away to a fellow. It's feels stable and I have never heard anything bad about it. Price $42,84. My link - non aff-link

The SRM 733 is one of my two favorite knives. I posted a mini-review of it a while back, but the short version is that it’s a good design and well-made. Fun to fidget with, too, with its flipper. It’s too bad they don’t have it in all-silver or all-black yet.

I couldn’t resist the Sunwayman V20C-Y neutral white version for about 39 shipped. True, it doesn’t have the XM-L2 but that’s OK.

I know this is not a radio thread however it must be said, if you do buy a uv-3r under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you use the charging stand. It simply wires 5V strait to the li-ion battery.

DO NOT USE IT!

You CAN use the charger into the charging port on the side of the radio though, it is regulated though a ‘proper’ li-ion charge controller.
