[Sale] 5. Batch "TA" Bistro/Bistro HD OTSM/Narsil drivers, 46mm for Q8 1S or 2S, Clicky or E-switch, SIR404

The. 4. batch reached 100 drivers and it gets a little bit hard to follow for new People,
so I start 5. Batch here

also for the Q8 launch with SIR404s upgraded

board tested successfully

I will also give the option this time to sell kits, containing all parts and boards, with flashed MCUs for Bistro and NarsilM
This saves 0.7$ shipping and is cheaper, still NarsilMs startup, over temp protection and LVP can be configured but not calibrated

Bistro-HD OTSM will be the main Bistro version this batch
OTSM works perfectly with lighted tail cap and hot light no more OTC timing issues

If you want fully assembled and tested drivers reply here
Flashed and thermal calibrated MCUs are included.

This batch will be reflow soldered, got enough expirience in 2. and 3. batch

Availiable options:

there are different sizes availiable 15, 17, 20, 21, 22 and 30mm
those are cheap on the PCBs from Oshpark so I may end up with some unused boards

38.5mm and 46,47.5mm SRK are possible as well, but add noticeable costs depending on size

Information about this driver series here
http://budgetlightforum.com/node/48447

This time will be using the SIR404 FET as there will be likely a lot high current builds
You can choose a custom number of 7135 less than the maximum

Attiny 25V running Bistro OTSM
or
Attiny 85 running NarsilM with latest version with fixed bugs
Narsil manual, a lot options to configure this one

NarsilM information here
http://budgetlightforum.com/node/54635

Drivers will be fully tested

NarsilM driver can be thermal calibrated as well
you can choose the temperature for stepdown, but change it later in User Settings
the time for stepdowns depends on the lights size/heat, a pocket rocket off a 14500 high drain will need a shorter time than a Convoy L6
standard will be 60°C
standard stepdown time 45s

2S LDO is availiable for 17, 21, 22, 26, 30 and 46mm size
2S Zener Mod is availiable on all sizes
Piggyback LDO on other sizes possible adds 1.5$

efficiency advantage over Fet+7135*1

this is just an example, keep in mind that triple hotrods get more gain than a single emitter light

Connections:

Springs:

for 17mm Board will be phosphor bronze in 2 lengths
for 15mm board the short spring fits (the long upside down but risky)
All drivers come without soldered springs, to stay below 10mm envelope thickness which is 2.2€ cheaper to ship

long spring

Or
short spring

For larger boards those springs are good
http://www.kaidomain.com/p/S024318.DIY-Gold-Plated-Battery-Driver-Contac...

Prices:

15-22mm
14$ Bistro HD OTSM Attiny25V

NarsilM Attiny85
13$ flashed standard Narsil settings 60°C uncalibrated, SD=2.8V, PO=(2B),
14.5$ with temp+LVP calibration and max temperature preset,

per loose spring add 0.3$
springs can be soldered, but stiff long spring adds shipping
2×0.75mm² silicone cable can be presoldered for 0.25$ per inch
also soldered short or large long spring plus soldered wires adds shipping cost

30mm add 1.5$
38.5mm add 2.85$ if 3 boards come together
46mm add 4.5$ if 3 boards come together
Zener mod add 0.5$
LDO 1.2$ 21mm and bigger only
LDO 17mm add 3$ more expensive part

Bistro or Narsil customized mode spacing adds 1-2$ depending how many groups or ramping table you want changed
or you supply a hex add 0.5$

1$ for Bistro 2S Zener mod needs to be adjusted with a customized voltage divider to the MCU

add 1$ for SRK Size with more than 8 AMC7135 Bank with all 16 AMCs

2$ envelope priority air mail shipping worldwide
adds 3$ for optional tracking + insurance up to 25€
Soldered long phosphor bronze springs are possible, but it adds 2.5$ shipping costs
Insurance up to 100€ and tracking adds 5$
Insurance above 100€ and tracking adds 7$

1€ Germany
adds 2,5€ for tracking + insurance up to 25€

thanks

If its OK I can equip them with the PSMN3R0-30YLDX FET
its the same as in the BLF Q8
and costs 0.6$ less
The 26mm Board will be a 30mm one sanded to 26mm

I will start this batch when I can confirm the new AMC supplier has the same quality than the last one had
The I will order SIR404 FETs and other parts for this batch

I don’t know why the old supplier is not selling claw types anymore

Is it possible to get a TA Q8 driver flashed with TK’s Anduril?
If so I’d like one or two (depending on price):
(1)46mm Q8 Anduril no calibration, PO=(2B), SD=2.8V, 16AMC
(1)46mm Q8 Anduril no calibration, PO=(2B), SD=2.8V, 8AMC
Could you post or PM me the price in Euro’s and the price for shipping to Belgium in Euro’s please.

Would it be possible to get 8AMC’s seperatly if I want to add some to the 2nd driver?

Hi

it is possible to add the other firmware if you supply me the hex for it
as I am not familiar with Anduril I cant calibrate it like I am used in Narsil

I can build you the drivers and add 8 loose AMCs

OK, I’ll ask around if there is a Anduril hex file for the Q8. I’ll let you know as soon as I got it, if not I’d buy them anyway flashed with latest version of Narsil. Cheers.

It doesn’t look like there’s a HEX file for a FET+N+1 availlble for Anduril. So the latest version of NarsilM will do.
Do the siwtch LEDS blink while crossing from 1AMC to N AMC to FET?
Also, from what I understand (wich is as good as nothing) I cannot just add extra AMCs without recalibrating the driver software?

The Indicator LED blinks out after you stopped ramping which bank is active

You can add extra AMC7135s
The ramping table is a good start and gives good results on most lights,
it depends also how much the FET current is, like a single LED can draw on 17mm 2.45A from AMCs and 6A from FET
while a quad board draws 2.45A from AMCs and 12-15A from FET
for quads the ramping in FET will be proportional bigger,
the SRK sized have 5.6A AMCs to about 20A FET
but the steps in FET are the same its still smooth

ok thanks for explaining.
So I’m stil up for
(1)46mm Q8 Narsil no calibration, PO=(2B), SD=2.8V, 16AMC
(1)46mm Q8 Narsil no calibration, PO=(2B), SD=2.8V, 8AMC

Now that I have read through things a bit more, I am liking these even more.

When you can get to them,

(2) 30mm 2S NarsilM LDO 65°C, SD=6V, PO=(NO), lighted side switch, LED wires, no spring
shipped w/tracking please.

Not sure on the wire length, as I dont have the hosts (Convoy L6) in hand yet. Seems common enough I trust your judgment on that, just let me know.

Thanks,
Jim

I can do this in this batch, but I have to wait to stock up parts and 30mm boards

Lexel, on the 2S boards for the L6, are you still using the 4700k resistor for the switch light?

My Convoy L6 thread with XHP70.2, Texas Avenger FET driver, Narsil v1.2 ramping firmware, lighted side switch and cut down SMO reflector. Lots of amp draws on stock driver as well.

Yeah, I use 15k to 30k.

I was just gonna suggest Lexel increase the resistor value for these 30mm 2S L6 drivers since everyone usually uses 2 leds.

I had another question. Is this accurate?

Quote:
When it comes to NarsilM and a 2S driver, you can only have 2 of these 3 options:

Temp protection
Low voltage protection
Indicator function

Could you sacrifice temp protection in order to get LVP and the indicator function?

temp does not need a pin, the other 2 does

The 4.7k is the minimum resistor, other values are possible, of course rewire the switch board for diodes in series increases the efficiency

Temp doesn’t need a pin? Is that only in NarsilM?

I remember on the older Narsil that I had to choose between temp or lvp.
I chose lvp and no temp. I’m a little confused about this.

———————————

The Convoy L6 switch LEDs are parallel. It would be a major undertaking (cutting traces and adding wires) to make it series.

This was the choose between v1.2 and 1.3, 1.3 does not support LVP in 2S, but got a lot of functions like temp sensor readout and use

Just a heads up, Lexel. It looks like the 2nd generation of Astrolux MF01 have a new wiring pattern on the mcpcb (along with a new driver design). We will have to see if the TA driver can be compatible with it.

you would have to modify the MCPCB
